Fortnite FTC Refund Payout Date: No Date for Round 3 Yet
Payments Going Out Now
Claim deadline was February 14, 2025 · as of Oct 19, 2026
As of October 2026, the FTC has not announced a date for the next Fortnite refund payments. Its official page still says only that it expects to send additional payments in 2026, once every remaining claim is reviewed. Two rounds have already gone out — December 2024 and June 2025 — totaling nearly $200 million.

The Short Answer on the Fortnite Refund Payment Date
This page covers only the payout. For who qualified and why Epic Games is paying, see our Fortnite FTC refund overview.
The fortnite ftc refund payout date for the next round has not been set. The FTC’s refund page says: “We expect to send additional payments in 2026 after we have reviewed and validated all claims. We will update this page when we have more information.” When we checked in October 2026, that page still carried the date stamp “July 2025.” No newer update had been posted.
So the honest answer to “fortnite refund payment date” is: no date yet, a target of 2026, and payment only after the claim review is finished.
Case details
This is an FTC refund program, not a court class action. The matter is In the Matter of Epic Games, Inc., FTC Matter/File Number 1923203. The FTC finalized the order on March 14, 2023; under it, Epic must pay $245 million, “which will be used to provide refunds to consumers.”
The FTC pays through its refund administrator, Rust Consulting, Inc.: phone 1-833-915-0880, email admin@fortniterefund.com. The official status page is ftc.gov/fortnite.
Status: Two Rounds Paid, Third Round Waiting on Claim Review
Round 1 — December 9, 2024: 629,344 payments totaling more than $72 million, about half by PayPal and half by check. The FTC put the average at about $114.
Round 2 — June 25 and 26, 2025: 969,173 checks and PayPal payments totaling more than $126 million, to players who filed a valid claim by February 14, 2025. The FTC did not publish an average; dividing the total by the number of payments gives roughly $130.
Round 3 — no date: the FTC says it is reviewing claims filed after February 14, 2025 and expects to pay in 2026. After round 2, the FTC put total Fortnite refunds at nearly $200 million of the $245 million.
Who Is Still Waiting for a Payment
If you filed a valid claim by February 14, 2025, you were in round 1 or round 2. You received the payment type you chose on the claim form.
If you filed after February 14, 2025, the FTC says: “you don’t need to do anything else right now. The FTC is currently reviewing claims.” You are the group waiting for the next round.
If you never filed, there is nothing coming. The deadline was July 9, 2025, and the FTC is not accepting new claims.
How Much Each Person Gets
The past rounds give a rough sense of scale, not a prediction: about $114 on average in round 1, and roughly $130 per payment in round 2 by our own division of the FTC’s totals. In most FTC cases, money is distributed pro rata — each recipient gets the same percentage of their loss — so individual amounts vary.
When it arrives: cash a check within 90 days and accept a PayPal payment within 30 days. The FTC generally does not issue 1099 tax forms for refunds; if one comes with your check, report the payment as income.

Three Things to Watch For
A refund program with money still to send and no published date invites fake “round 3” messages:
“Claim your round 3 Fortnite refund” links
New claims closed July 9, 2025. Any message inviting you to file now is not from the FTC. The FTC says an email or text telling you to click a link or pay to get your refund is a scam — report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
Fake PayPal payment emails
The FTC really does pay by PayPal, which makes this convincing. Real FTC PayPal payments are announced first by an email from an address ending in .gov. Do not click links in the email; go to PayPal.com or ftc.gov/refunds directly.
Requests for fees or account details
The FTC never charges upfront fees and never asks for your Social Security number, bank account or account login to send a refund. Anyone asking for a “processing fee” to speed up your payment is not the FTC.
Fortnite Refund Payment — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
How long until I get my Fortnite refund?
If you filed after February 14, 2025, there is no set date. As of October 2026, the FTC says it expects to send additional payments in 2026 “after we have reviewed and validated all claims.” If you filed earlier with a valid claim, your payment went out in December 2024 or June 2025.
How can I check the status of my FTC refund?
Contact the refund administrator, Rust Consulting, Inc., at 1-833-915-0880 or admin@fortniterefund.com. The FTC also says to call the number printed on your claim form, check or email, and that you can verify the number at ftc.gov/refunds. For general updates, watch ftc.gov/fortnite.
What is the current status of the Fortnite refund?
Two rounds have been paid and a third is pending. As of October 2026, the FTC is still reviewing claims filed after February 14, 2025 and has not announced a payment date. This page covers the refund only, not the status of the game itself.
How much will my Fortnite refund be?
Unknown for the next round. The FTC says the amount depends on several factors, including how many people file. For reference only: round 1 averaged about $114, and round 2 works out to roughly $130 per payment.
Can I still file a Fortnite refund claim?
No. The deadline was July 9, 2025, and the FTC is not accepting new claims. A website or message offering to file one for you now is not legitimate.
My check expired or I missed the PayPal payment. Can I still get it?
Possibly. The FTC says that if money is still available in the fund, it may be able to reissue the payment — call the administrator for details. Reissues are generally processed once a month, and a check replacing a PayPal payment takes at least 45 days from the original payment date.
Has Fortnite been sued before?
Yes. Besides this $245 million refund order, Epic Games agreed to pay a separate $275 million penalty over FTC allegations that it violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Rule. That penalty does not fund refunds. For Epic’s other cases, see our Epic Games lawsuit page.
Do I have to do anything to get the next payment?
No. If you filed after February 14, 2025, the FTC says you do not need to do anything right now. You will get the payment type you chose on your claim form. Keep your contact details current with the administrator.
