Roundup Settlement Payout Date: No Date Until the Judge Rules
Settlement — Claims Process
This is the payment page for the $7.25 billion Roundup class settlement; for who qualifies and how the case got here, see our Roundup settlement calculator. The short answer: as of October 19, 2026 there is no payout date. The judge held the fairness hearing on September 14, 2026 and has not ruled. Registration does not open until he does, and the main awards are paid on annual dates counted from when the settlement becomes final.

What This Page Covers
Only the money: when it moves, in what order, and how much each tier is designed to pay. Monsanto has agreed to pay up to $7.25 billion into a fund spread over 17 to 21 years — so this is not a single payday. The lawsuits allege that Roundup exposure caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma; Monsanto denies it. The case background is on our Roundup lawsuit update page.
Case details
The settlement is in Missouri state court, not federal court: Randall King, et al. v. Monsanto Company, No. 2622-CC00325, 22nd Judicial Circuit Court, City of St. Louis, before Judge Timothy J. Boyer. The class cut-off for federal cases was February 17, 2026: people with a claim pending in the federal Roundup MDL (No. 2741) on that date are outside the class unless they ask to be included and dismiss that claim. The official site is WeedKillerClass.com; phone 1-888-403-8201.
Status: Hearing Held, No Ruling, No Payout Date
The order of events from here:
1. Judge Boyer rules on final approval. Registration opens; people diagnosed by March 4, 2026 then have 180 days to register.
2. Appeals. The settlement becomes final (the “Effective Date”) only when all appeals are resolved or the time to appeal has passed.
3. Claim Packages with medical proof are due within 180 days of the Effective Date.
4. Monsanto makes 16 annual payments, the first one year after the Effective Date. Program Awards are processed annually from those payments.
So the honest answer to the “roundup settlement payout date” question is: not before the judge rules, and for most people not before the first annual payment date that follows the settlement becoming final.
Who Gets Paid First
Who qualifies is covered on the calculator page. For timing, three groups matter:
Quick-Pay claimants. Fixed awards for Tiers 5–9 who filed a lawsuit or signed a tolling agreement before February 13, 2026. Per the official notice, they are processed first-in, first-out and “will begin before the settlement is fully approved.”
Exigency claimants. People facing imminent loss of housing or a terminal illness can apply for an award that can be paid before the settlement is final.
Everyone else diagnosed by March 4, 2026. Register within 180 days of final approval, file the Claim Package within 180 days of the Effective Date, then wait for the annual award cycle. People diagnosed later file within six years of diagnosis, and before the 16th Annual Payment Date.
How Much Each Tier Pays
Occupational: $165,000 (under 60, aggressive); $105,000 (60–77, aggressive); $85,000 (under 60, indolent); $60,000 (60–77, indolent).
Residential: $40,000; $30,000; $25,000; $20,000 (same order).
Age 78 or older, any exposure: $10,000.
An individual award can land between 80% and 120% of the tier average, depending on the claim score. Quick-Pay awards are fixed and lower: $14,500, $11,000, $10,500, $7,700 and $6,000 for Tiers 5 to 9. Claimants who cannot prove the minimum exposure time can get a $150 Limited Proof Award. For a fuller breakdown, see Roundup settlement per person.
Before the money reaches you: health insurers can claim reimbursement through medical liens; a private lawyer hired after February 13, 2026 can take no more than 22%; and a family-member award of 1% comes out of the main award, not on top of it.
Roundup Settlement Payment Timeline
February 2026 — Settlement Proposed
Monsanto and class counsel propose a fund of up to $7.25 billion. A St. Louis judge must approve it before payouts can begin.
March 4, 2026 — Diagnosis Cut-Off
People diagnosed with NHL by this date are in Subclass 1, the group that registers after final approval. Later diagnoses claim in future years.
June 4, 2026 — Opt-Out and Objection Deadline
The last day to exclude yourself or object. Class members who did nothing stay in the settlement.
August 31, 2026 — Second Initial Payment Due
Under the notice, Monsanto was to pay a second $500 million by this date, on top of $500 million already paid. That money covers administration and the early Quick-Pay and Exigency awards.
September 14, 2026 — Fairness Hearing
Judge Boyer hears supporters and objectors in St. Louis. Reuters reported he was not expected to rule at the hearing.
October 2026 — Waiting on the Ruling
As of October 19, 2026, the official site still says registration is not available because final approval has not been granted. No payout date exists.
Three Things to Watch For
A huge settlement with no open claim form yet is easy to exploit:
“Register now for your Roundup payout” forms
Registration is not open as of October 19, 2026. It opens only after final approval, through WeedKillerClass.com or 1-888-403-8201. A site taking your medical records today is not the administrator.
Fees to “speed up” a Quick-Pay award
Quick-Pay is limited to Tiers 5–9 who sued or signed a tolling agreement before February 13, 2026, and it runs first-in, first-out. Class members do not pay class counsel directly. Paying a stranger does not move you up the line.
Ads promising “$165,000”
That is the Tier 1 average, for occupational claimants under 60 with aggressive NHL. Residential tiers average $20,000–$40,000. A lawyer retained after February 13, 2026 is capped at 22% of the award, so read any contract before you sign it.
Roundup Settlement Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
When will the Roundup lawsuit be settled?
A settlement has been proposed, but as of October 19, 2026 it has not been approved. Judge Timothy J. Boyer held the fairness hearing on September 14, 2026, and the official site says, “We do not know how long these decisions will take.” Even after approval, appeals can delay the date the settlement becomes final.
How much will I get from my Roundup settlement?
That depends on your tier. Program Award averages run from $10,000 (diagnosed at 78 or older) to $165,000 (occupational, under 60, aggressive NHL), and an individual award can land at 80% to 120% of the tier average. Medical liens and any private lawyer's fee come out of it. Our calculator walks through the tiers.
What is the average Roundup settlement per person?
No single average across all class members has been published. The settlement sets an average for each of nine tiers instead, from $10,000 to $165,000. Reuters put the number of pending claims at approximately 65,000, but the fund is paid over years and not divided evenly, so dividing $7.25 billion by that figure does not give a real per-person number.
How soon can you expect to receive compensation from the lawsuit?
For most people, not before the first annual payment date. Monsanto makes 16 yearly payments, starting one year after the settlement becomes final, and Program Awards are processed annually. Quick-Pay and Exigency awards are the exceptions and can be paid earlier. No calendar date is set while the approval ruling is pending.
What is the Roundup registration deadline?
If you were diagnosed by March 4, 2026, you must register within 180 days after final approval. The notice lists January 5, 2027 as the earliest deadline, but that date can no longer apply: the deadline is 180 days after the judge grants final approval, and no ruling has been issued. The exact calendar dates will be posted on WeedKillerClass.com once the court approves the settlement.
What if I am too sick to wait for the annual payments?
Ask about an Exigency Award. It is for imminent loss of housing or a terminal illness, can be paid before the settlement is final, and is worth the same as your standard Program Award. Accepting it rules out any other award from the settlement.
What's happening with the Roundup lawsuit?
As of October 19, 2026 the settlement is awaiting Judge Boyer's ruling. Separately, the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 for Monsanto in Monsanto v. Durnell on June 25, 2026, and a new trial began in St. Louis on September 29, 2026. Details are on our Roundup lawsuit update page.
Is Roundup safe to use now?
This page covers settlement payments only, not product safety. Per Reuters, the EPA has consistently found glyphosate not likely to cause cancer in humans and expects an updated human health risk assessment in late 2026. For that answer, look to the EPA rather than the settlement site.
