AMCA Settlement Payout Date: Approved, Not Yet Paying
Claim deadline passed
Claim deadline was September 3, 2026 · as of Oct 19, 2026
As of October 2026, no AMCA settlement has published a payment date. The Labcorp settlement is approved and its claims closed on September 3, 2026, but no date for checks has been announced. The separate Sonic Healthcare settlement is still taking claims and cannot pay before its January 7, 2027 approval hearing. This page covers only the AMCA data breach settlement payout. The case itself is explained on our AMCA data breach lawsuit page.

Which AMCA Settlement Is Yours?
“The AMCA settlement” is really several separate funds inside one federal case. Each pays on its own clock, so first match your notice to the right one.
Labcorp patients: a $35,000,000 fund. Approved, claims closed, payment date not announced.
Sonic Healthcare, Aurora Diagnostics, Clinical Pathology Laboratories or Austin Pathology Associates patients: a $6,438,578.20 fund. Claims open until January 4, 2027. Not yet approved.
CareCentrix members: a $6,300,000 fund agreed on May 2, 2023, with Angeion Group as administrator. We could not confirm its payment status.
Your notice letter names the lab or company. That name tells you which section below applies.
Case details
All of these settlements sit in In re: American Medical Collection Agency, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, MDL No. 2904, No. 2:19-md-02904, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The Sonic notice names U.S. District Judge Jamel K. Semper as the judge holding its approval hearing. The court file is still active: a brief opposing a motion was filed on October 16, 2026 (docket entry 949). We could not see what that motion is about, so we cannot say whether it affects any payment.
Status: No Payment Date for Any AMCA Fund
Sonic ($6,438,578.20): claims open, not approved. The notice is direct about timing: “Settlement benefits will be distributed if the Court grants final approval of the settlement and after any appeals are resolved, or after the period to seek an appeal has expired.” The approval hearing is January 7, 2027. So no Sonic money can go out before 2027.
CareCentrix ($6,300,000): status unconfirmed. Its claims site did not load readable text for us, and we found no record of a payment date.
One more thing: in September 2026 Labcorp agreed to pay $2,287,455 to a 44-state coalition of attorneys general. That money goes to the states. It does not create checks for patients.
Who Gets Paid From Each Fund
Labcorp: only people who filed a claim by September 3, 2026. The settlement states that benefits are paid only to those who submit a claim. If you did not file, you will not receive a Labcorp payment.
Sonic: you can still file until January 4, 2027 (online, or by mail postmarked by that date). The opt-out and objection deadline is December 3, 2026. The official site is amcadatabreachsettlement.com, and the toll-free number in the notice is (833) 453-3715.
Who belongs to each class is covered on the main AMCA page.
How Much Each Person Gets
Documented losses: reimbursement up to $5,000 per person, with receipts or other proof.
Alternative cash payment: estimated at $50 per valid claimant. This is an estimate. The Sonic notice says both payment types are “subject to pro rata increases or decreases dependent on the number of claims filed.” The cash payment is whatever is left after fees, costs and loss claims, divided evenly among cash claimants.
Monitoring: two years of CyEx Medical Shield Pro medical-information monitoring, if you chose it.
The Labcorp class covers 10,251,784 patients. If many of them filed, the $50 figure can drop. If few filed, it can rise. To see how claim rates change payouts, try our settlement payout calculator.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 25,309 other fraud casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2026, 27.6% of them filed as class actions:
- 17.1% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 22.9% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 17.1% and 39.9%.
- 10.2% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 112 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 29.9 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7 months.
- Only 761 of them (3%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $663,000.

Three Things to Watch For
Payout searches spike as soon as people hear “approved,” and so do fakes:
“Pay a fee to release your Labcorp payment”
Settlement payments come out of the fund itself. No court-appointed administrator asks you for a processing fee, a tax prepayment or gift cards before sending your money.
Look-alike AMCA claim sites
The real Labcorp site has a number in its address (amcadatabreachsettlement83395.com). The Sonic notice prints amcadatabreachsettlement.com, while some listings give amcadatabreachsettlement-saca.com, so use the address on your own notice. A different domain asking for your Social Security number or bank login is not one of them.
“Late Labcorp claims still accepted”
The Labcorp claim deadline was September 3, 2026. Anyone offering to file a late Labcorp claim for you is selling nothing. The only AMCA fund still open is the Sonic settlement, which closes January 4, 2027.
AMCA Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
What is the AMCA settlement payout date?
As of October 2026, there isn't one. The Labcorp settlement was approved in August 2026 and its claims closed September 3, 2026, but no payment date has been published. The Sonic settlement cannot pay before its January 7, 2027 approval hearing.
How long does it take to receive a settlement check from a class action lawsuit?
There is no fixed number of days. Payment comes after final approval and after the appeal period ends or any appeal is resolved. Then the administrator still has to finish reviewing claims. The Sonic agreement makes the payment trigger the point when the judgment is “Final and no longer subject to appeal.”
How much will I get from the AMCA data breach settlement?
The cash option is estimated at $50 per valid claimant for both Labcorp and Sonic. It rises or falls depending on how many people filed. Documented losses can be reimbursed up to $5,000 per person. No final amount has been announced.
Is there a class action against LabCorp?
Yes. Labcorp agreed to a $35,000,000 class settlement in MDL No. 2904 in federal court in New Jersey. It covers people whose information Labcorp sent to AMCA. Claims closed September 3, 2026. Labcorp also agreed in September 2026 to pay $2,287,455 to 44 states, but that money does not go to patients. See our Labcorp data breach settlement page.
I missed the Labcorp deadline. Can I still get anything?
Not from the Labcorp fund, because benefits go only to people who filed. If a Sonic Healthcare, Aurora Diagnostics, Clinical Pathology Laboratories or Austin Pathology Associates lab handled your testing, you can still file in the Sonic settlement until January 4, 2027.
Is a Kroll letter or email about AMCA legit?
The Sonic notice names Kroll Settlement Administration as the place to send mail, so a Kroll envelope is not a red flag by itself. Check that any link goes to the official domain, and never pay a fee. Our Kroll envelope explainer shows what to check.
What is the amount of the AT&T data breach settlement?
That is a different case with no connection to AMCA. AT&T's fund is $177 million, and it was approved October 2, 2026. Its payment timing is on our AT&T settlement payout date page.
Where will an AMCA payment update appear first?
On the official settlement sites: amcadatabreachsettlement83395.com for Labcorp and amcadatabreachsettlement.com for Sonic. Updates may also appear in court filings in MDL No. 2904. Keep your claim number and your notice, and make sure the administrator has your current address or email.
