Holian Settlement Payout Date: Review Done, No Date Announced
Settled — Claims Period Closed
Claim deadline was October 13, 2025 · as of Oct 19, 2026
The $5.5 million Holian Insulation settlement from the Chemtool fire won final approval on October 23, 2025, but no money had been confirmed as sent as of October 19, 2026. The official site says claim review is substantially complete and that distribution should begin soon. It still gives no date. The first-quarter 2026 estimate passed without a payment, and so did a second-quarter one that was reported but never confirmed. You do not need to do anything.

Holian Settlement Payment Date: The Short Answer
This page covers only the money: when, how much and how it arrives. For what the settlement is and who qualifies, see our Holian settlement overview.
There is no Holian settlement payout date yet. As of October 19, 2026, the home page of the official site, holiansettlement.com, says the administrator, Analytics Consulting, has “substantially completed our review and verification processes and expect[s] to begin distribution soon.” It adds that “class members do not need to take any action in the meantime.” The page data shows it was last updated October 7, 2026.
So the honest answer to the “holian settlement payment date” question is this: the payments look close, but no one has announced a date.
Case details
The settlement was approved in Grasley, et al. v. Chemtool Inc., No. 21 L 162, in the Circuit Court of the 17th Judicial Circuit, Winnebago County, Illinois. This is a state court, not a federal one. Judge Stephen E. Balogh granted final approval on October 23, 2025. Analytics Consulting LLC is the settlement administrator and Huntington Bank is the escrow agent.
Under the settlement agreement, money goes out only after the Effective Date, after the court approves the Plan of Distribution, and after the claims process is finished. The agreement does not set a calendar date. After final approval, the attorneys’ next status report was due on or before December 29, 2025, according to Rockton-Roscoe News. We have not seen any later court filing that sets a payment date.
Status: Approved, Claims Closed, Payments Not Yet Confirmed
The estimates so far:
• November 7, 2025: Analytics Consulting told Rockton-Roscoe News that it had “over 5,000 claims to process” and that “distribution of settlement payments is anticipated in the first quarter of 2026.”
• April 9, 2026: Rockton-Roscoe News reported that an Analytics call-center representative told a resident the timeline had been “extended to the second quarter of 2026.” The paper noted that attorneys and administrators had not confirmed this.
• October 2026: the official site says review is substantially complete and distribution should begin “soon,” with no date.
The first Chemtool payments followed a similar pattern. Estimates of December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025 all passed, and checks and electronic payments finally went out on May 1, 2025.
Who Gets a Holian Payment
Only people with an approved claim get paid. If your Chemtool claim was approved, it counted automatically for Holian and you did not need to file again. Everyone else had to file by the October 13, 2025 claim deadline, which has passed.
Rockton-Roscoe News reported that the administrator said new claimants who are denied will be told by mail and can fix their claim. If you got no letter, that does not prove your claim was approved. Ask the administrator.
One distinction matters: people who are new to the Holian settlement get nothing from the earlier $94.5 million Chemtool fund, because that money has already been paid out.
How Much Each Person Gets
• Fund: $5,500,000. Attorneys’ fees are capped at 35%, or $1.925 million. Huntington Bank receives $47,674. That leaves about $3,527,326 for claimants, according to Rockton-Roscoe News.
• Split: half, about $1,763,663, goes to property damage. It is shared only among owners, in proportion to their property’s value as assessed by the Winnebago County Supervisor of Assessments. The other half goes to evacuation and loss of use, which covers tenants and owner-occupiers.
• Average: the agreement estimated an average “greater than $500” if the same number of people claimed as in the Chemtool round, where the average was above $10,000. Rockton-Roscoe News notes that the $500 figure is per claim, not per person. About 5,000 claims were filed.
Your own share depends on whether you owned or rented, your property’s assessed value, its distance from the plant, whether it was residential, and how many people lived there.

Three Things to Watch For
Rockton-area residents have waited nearly a year since approval, and long waits like this attract imposters:
“Confirm your Venmo/Zelle to release your Holian payment”
Payments go by Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or check, using the method you chose on your claim form. The official site says class members do not need to take any action. Treat any text or social media message asking for app logins, codes or a “test” transfer as fake.
A fee to “speed up” or “release” your check
Fees and administration costs are taken out of the fund before distribution. The real administrator does not charge you to get paid. If you are unsure, call the number on holiansettlement.com, not a number from a message.
“Late Holian claims still accepted” posts
The claim deadline was October 13, 2025. Anyone offering to file a new Holian claim for you now, or asking for your Social Security number or property details to “get you in,” is not part of the settlement.
Holian Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
When to expect a Holian settlement payment?
No date has been announced. As of October 19, 2026, the official site says claim review is substantially complete and that the administrator expects “to begin distribution soon.” Earlier estimates for the first quarter of 2026 and, unconfirmed, the second quarter of 2026 both passed without payment.
How can I track my settlement check?
Contact the administrator directly: 866-654-3125 (toll free), HolianSettlement@noticeadministrator.com, or Holian Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 2009, Chanhassen, MN 55317-2009. Updates are posted on holiansettlement.com. There is no public tracking tool.
What is the Holian settlement?
It is a $5.5 million settlement with Holian Insulation Company that is separate from the earlier $94.5 million Chemtool settlement over the same 2021 fire. Together they total $100 million. Our Holian settlement overview explains who qualifies.
How much will I get from the Holian settlement?
No individual amounts have been published. The agreement estimated an average above $500 per approved claim, out of roughly $3.5 million left after fees and costs. Owners also receive a share based on assessed property value, so payments will vary.
I got a Chemtool payment. Do I need to do anything for Holian?
No. An approved Chemtool claim was automatically treated as a Holian claim. It is reasonable to expect the same payment method you used before, but you can confirm with the administrator.
How will the money arrive?
Under the settlement agreement, by Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or check. People who filed a paper claim form receive a check by U.S. Mail. The agreement also mentions “subsequent payments (if any),” so a later second round is possible but not promised.
Why is the Holian payment taking so long?
The administrator says the timing depends on reviewing and verifying thousands of claims and their supporting documents. The Chemtool round took a similarly long route: several estimates passed before payments went out on May 1, 2025.
What class action settlements are paying out soon?
This page tracks only the Holian payment. For other cases, see our list of open class action settlements. Each one has its own administrator and timeline.
