Zantac Settlement Payout Date: No Public Date, No Claim Form
Active MDL
This page covers only the money. For the case history, see our Zantac lawsuit status page. The short answer as of October 19, 2026: there is no single zantac settlement payout date. The Zantac settlements are private deals with law firms, not a class action. Payments go to each claimant through their own lawyer, on a schedule only that lawyer can tell you.

How a Zantac Lawsuit Payout Actually Works
The biggest deal is GSK’s. GSK agreed with 10 plaintiff firms to pay up to $2.2 billion for about 80,000 state-court cases — 93% of the state cases pending against it. The money covers cases “that meet agreed eligibility and participation criteria.” GSK says the terms are confidential.
So there is no administrator website, no claim form and no published payment calendar. Your law firm (or a lien-resolution company it hires) handles your release, your allocation and your check. GSK admitted no liability.
Pfizer, Sanofi and Boehringer Ingelheim have also settled thousands of Zantac suits. None of them has published a payment schedule.
Case details
Settled cases and dismissed cases are on different tracks. The federal case is In re Zantac (Ranitidine) Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2924 in the Southern District of Florida, before Judge Robin Rosenberg. About 14,000 federal cases were dismissed after the December 2022 expert ruling. That dismissal is on appeal to the Eleventh Circuit, argued on October 10, 2025.
In Delaware, the Superior Court granted summary judgment on April 13, 2026 in all remaining cases filed on or before December 1, 2025. Plaintiffs filed a notice of appeal on May 13, 2026. Neither appeal is a payout. If you are in one of those dismissed cases, you are not waiting for a settlement check.
Status: GSK Has Been Paying, No Date for You
What the record does show: GSK has been paying. Its own filings report Zantac settlement payments of £672 million in 2024 (all in the fourth quarter) and £1,195 million in 2025, including £507 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. That is £1,867 million over the two years. GSK had expected the deal to be “fully implemented by the end of H1 2025.” Payments were still running at the end of 2025, so that target slipped.
By its full-year 2025 report, GSK said only 13 state-court cases remained against it. Its report on the second quarter of 2026, announced July 28, 2026, still mentions higher net debt “following Zantac settlement payments.”
So if you settled with GSK and still have no money, the hold-up is most likely on your file — release paperwork, allocation or liens. That is not a delay of the whole settlement.

Who Gets Paid From These Settlements
Only people who had already filed a case, through a firm that signed a deal and accepted it. GSK’s deal covers cases “handled by those plaintiff firms that meet agreed eligibility and participation criteria.” Nobody can join it now by filling in a form.
The practical test: do you have a lawyer and a signed release? If yes, your firm is the only source for your amount and date. Federal guidance points the same way — Medicare’s own Zantac guidance says beneficiaries “should contact their attorney to determine the status of their Zantac settlement.” If you never filed a case, no Zantac settlement owes you money.
How Much Is the Zantac Payout Per Person?
Actual amounts vary by cancer type, proof of use and the confidential allocation. Then deductions come off the top: attorney fees, case costs and any medical liens.
Medicare is a big one. In guidance dated October 1, 2026, CMS says “by law Medicare is required to pursue recovery of what it paid” for cancer treatment out of Zantac settlements. Firms can resolve that through a group “Global Resolution.” Lien-resolution companies must submit their groups “no later than December 31, 2028” and pay by June 1, 2029. Settlements must be reported before January 1, 2029 to qualify. That is a long runway for lien work, and it is why some checks take time. If you are not on Medicare, you owe Medicare nothing, but your status still has to be verified.

How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 171,945 health care/pharmaceutical product liability casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2026:
- 33.5% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 18% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 33.5% and 51.6%.
- 8.8% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 2,965 reached a trial (0%), after a median of 32 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 26.9 months.
- Almost none record a money award in this data (18 of 171,945), and the recorded figures are capped, so we do not publish an average.

April 13, 2026 — Delaware Cases Dismissed

October 2026 — No Public Date, Appeal Pending

Three Things to Watch For
A big headline number with no claim form is exactly the gap imposters use:
“Claim your share of the $2.2 billion”
There is no Zantac claims portal and no administrator taking new claims. GSK’s money resolves cases that had already been filed through specific firms. A site asking for your Social Security number to “register” is collecting data.
“Pay a fee to release your Zantac check”
Liens are real: Medicare recovers its share through your attorney or the lien-resolution company your attorney hired. No legitimate party calls you out of the blue and asks for a gift card or wire transfer to unlock your money. If unsure, call your own law firm on a number you already have.
“Tier 1 pays $X” payout charts
GSK says the settlement terms are confidential, so any chart claiming exact Zantac tier amounts is a guess at best. Use it as a reason to ask your lawyer for your own allocation in writing, not as a promise.
Zantac Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
What is the Zantac settlement payout date?
There is none to publish. As of October 19, 2026, the Zantac settlements are confidential deals paid through each plaintiff’s law firm, so there is no single zantac settlement payout date. Your firm sets your date once your release, allocation and liens are done. GSK’s filings show it paid £672 million in 2024 and £1,195 million in 2025.
How much is the Zantac lawsuit payout per person?
Not published. GSK agreed to pay up to $2.2 billion for about 80,000 cases, which is a gross average of at most about $27,500 per case before fees, costs and liens. That is arithmetic, not anyone’s payment — individual amounts depend on the confidential allocation.
Has anyone received a Zantac settlement?
GSK reports making Zantac settlement payments of £672 million in 2024 and £1,195 million in 2025. Those payments go out through the plaintiffs’ firms, so individual payouts are not public. Pfizer, Sanofi and Boehringer Ingelheim have also settled thousands of suits without publishing schedules.
Why is my Zantac payment taking so long?
Often liens and paperwork on your own file, though no source states the cause of any individual delay. Medicare must by law recover what it paid for related treatment. Under CMS’s October 1, 2026 guidance, firms can resolve that as a group, with submissions due by December 31, 2028. CMS says to ask your attorney for status. Medicare’s regular recovery contractor has no information on the group process.
Is there a Zantac claim form or settlement administrator?
No. The Zantac settlements are not class actions. They resolved cases already filed by specific firms, so there is no claim form, no claim deadline and no public administrator site.
How much money do people usually get in a class action lawsuit?
The Zantac cases are individual product liability suits, not a class action, so class-action averages do not apply to them. For real class settlements, our payout calculator shows how per-person amounts are worked out.
What happens to my payout if the Eleventh Circuit or Delaware appeal is decided?
Those appeals concern cases that were dismissed — about 14,000 in the federal MDL, and the Delaware cases covered by the April 13, 2026 ruling. They do not reopen or reprice settlements already signed. A win for plaintiffs would revive dismissed cases. It would not create a payment date.
Is Zantac safe to use now?
This page cannot answer medical questions. For context: the FDA asked companies to remove ranitidine products in 2020, and Sanofi was allowed to bring Zantac back in 2025 after replacing the active ingredient. Ask a pharmacist or your doctor whether it suits you.
