The 23andMe settlement payout date has passed. The official settlement website says all submitted claims were reviewed and payments for approved claims were issued on September 29 and 30, 2026. If you filed on time and your claim was approved, the money should already be in the account or payment method you chose. If it is not, the administrator — Kroll Settlement Administration — is who to contact. This page covers only the payout; the case itself is on our 23andMe data breach settlement page.

Where the Money Comes From
The payments come from the class settlement over the cyberattack 23andMe announced on October 6, 2023, which the settlement website says affected approximately 6.4 million U.S. residents. Because 23andMe went through bankruptcy, the final amount was set by the bankruptcy court rather than by the original agreement, which had allowed between $30 million and $50 million.
On July 7, 2026 the court approved a final settlement amount of $46.75 million. Per Reuters, as reported by Gizmodo, $14.29 million of that had already been paid earlier, leaving $32.46 million more to distribute. Attorneys' fees (up to 25% of the fund), expenses (up to $500,000) and administration costs come out of the fund before class members are paid.
Case Details
The settlement began as In re: 23andMe, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, Case No. 24-md-03098-EMC, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. It is now pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri as In re: Chrome Holding Co., et al., Case No. 25-40976-357 — 23andMe's legal name changed to Chrome after the 2025 asset sale. The court-approved website is 23andmedatasettlement.com, run by Kroll Settlement Administration.
Status: Paid on September 29–30, 2026
What has not been published: how many claims were approved or denied, the final amount per claim type, a deadline to cash or deposit payments, and whether there will be a second distribution or a residual (cy pres) payment. We found no official announcement of a further round as of October 11, 2026.
Who Gets Paid — Automatically or Only With a Claim
Only people who filed a claim get cash. The claim deadline was February 17, 2026, and the deadline to fix a deficient claim was June 12, 2026. Both have passed; nobody can join this payment round now.
The one partial exception is the Health Information Claim. The settlement website says those payments “will be sent to eligible Settlement Class Members once payment information is provided” — eligible Health Information class members had to provide their preferred payment method on the Claim Form by February 17, 2026.
Class members who did nothing get no cash, but the site says they keep the option to use the five years of Privacy & Medical Shield + Genetic Monitoring.
How Much Each Person Gets
Extraordinary Claims (documented losses): up to $10,000 each, from a pool capped at $8,300,000 and reduced pro rata if claims exceed it.
Health Information Claims: up to $165, from a pool capped at about $1,250,000.
Statutory Cash Claims (residents of Alaska, California, Illinois or Oregon between May 1, 2023 and October 1, 2023): estimated at $100, paid pro rata from what is left after the other two claim types.
The $100 is an estimate, not a promise — the actual statutory payment depends on how many valid claims were approved. Class members have posted the deposits they received online; those are self-reports, not confirmed figures, and we do not repeat them as amounts.

Three Things to Watch For
The breach exposed names, emails and ancestry data, so follow-up payment scams can sound well-informed:
“Your 23andMe payment is on hold — pay a release fee”
The payments were issued on September 29–30, 2026. No step in the process described on the settlement website asks you to pay anything to receive your share.
“Confirm your Social Security number or bank login to receive funds”
Payment methods were chosen on the claim form months ago. A message asking for your SSN, a bank password or a card number to “release” a 23andMe payment is not part of the official process.
“File now for the 23andMe payout” sites
The claim deadline passed on February 17, 2026. Anyone offering to file a new claim — or to “speed up” one for a percentage — is selling something that no longer exists.
23andMe Settlement Payment — Questions People Actually Ask
What is the 23andMe settlement payout date?
September 29 and 30, 2026. The official settlement website says all submitted claims were reviewed and payments for approved claims were issued on those two days.
How do I check my 23andMe settlement claim status?
Go to 23andmedatasettlement.com directly (type the address yourself) and use the Contact Form, call (833) 621-5792, or email info@23andMeDataSettlement.com. Have your claim number, the claim type you filed, and the email address you used ready.
What about the 23andMe settlement check status — I never got paid?
If you filed by February 17, 2026 and were approved, payment was issued September 29 or 30, 2026. If nothing arrived, contact Kroll in writing: 23andMe c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, PO Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391. Your claim may have been denied, or the payment may have failed — only the administrator can tell you which.
How much will I get from the 23andMe settlement?
It depends on your claim type: up to $10,000 for documented Extraordinary Claims, up to $165 for Health Information Claims, and an estimated $100 for Statutory Cash Claims (Alaska, California, Illinois and Oregon residents). Final per-claim amounts have not been published.
Can I still file a claim?
No. The claim deadline was February 17, 2026 and the deficiency-cure deadline was June 12, 2026. If you never filed, you will not receive cash, though the site says class members keep access to the monitoring service.
Is the email address 23andMe settlement@e.emailksa.com legitimate?
We could not verify that sending address. The only email address the official settlement website lists is info@23andMeDataSettlement.com. Do not click links in any payment message — open 23andmedatasettlement.com yourself, or call (833) 621-5792, and ask whether the message came from Kroll.
Will there be a second payment?
As of October 11, 2026, no second distribution, cash-by deadline or residual payment has been announced on the settlement website. Watch that site for updates rather than third-party posts.
How do I get the monitoring service?
The settlement FAQ says enrolled claimants receive an email with their enrollment code and instructions once the settlement is final and the bankruptcy process is resolved. Check that it points to the official settlement website before entering anything.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
