Yes. smartphoneaisettlement.com is the website for the $250 million Apple settlement over delayed Apple Intelligence and Siri features, run by the court-appointed administrator, Verita Global. The claim form itself lives on aplsconnect.com, and the notice emails reach it through a Verita link. If you bought an iPhone 16 or iPhone 15 Pro in the U.S. between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, you can claim about $25 per phone until December 21, 2026.

What the Email Is About
The email concerns Landsheft v. Apple Inc., a false-advertising class action. The lawsuit alleges that Apple marketed the iPhone 16 line and the iPhone 15 Pro models with enhanced Siri and Apple Intelligence features that were not available when people bought the phones. Apple denies the allegations; the court noted that preliminary approval “is not a finding or admission of liability.”
Apple agreed to pay $250,000,000 to settle. This page answers only one question: is the email and the site it sends you to real? For the full case, the payout math and the other Apple cases, see our Apple Siri settlement calculator and our Apple lawsuit overview.
Case details
Landsheft v. Apple Inc., No. 5:25-cv-02668, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, before Judge Noel Wise. The first complaint was filed on March 19, 2025; seven similar suits were consolidated into it. The settlement agreement was filed on May 5, 2026. After a hearing on July 8, 2026, the court granted preliminary approval on July 17, 2026 and, in the same order, appointed Verita Global, LLC as Settlement Administrator. The final approval hearing is set for February 24, 2027.
Status: Real Settlement, Claims Open Until December 21, 2026
The odd part is the address bar. The claim form runs on aplsconnect.com, not on smartphoneaisettlement.com. People searching “aplsconnect.com smartphoneaisettlement” are reacting to exactly that. Public scans of real notice emails show the link first goes through e.veritaclaims.com — Verita's own email domain — and then lands on aplsconnect.com/smartphoneaisettlement/Claimant/Link, carrying a personal key. The Arizona Republic, in a September 29, 2026 report, gave the same aplsconnect.com/smartphoneaisettlement address for filing online.
So the chain is consistent: the court appointed Verita, Verita runs smartphoneaisettlement.com, and its claim buttons and emails lead to aplsconnect.com. Nothing has been paid yet; payments wait for final approval.
Don't miss the claim deadline

Who Can File
You are in the class if you live in the U.S. and bought an iPhone 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max in the U.S. between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, not for resale. Apple, its employees and the judges on the case are excluded.
You do not need the email to file. The claim form accepts a Claim ID and PIN if you have one; without one, you file with your details and the phone's serial number. One claim per eligible phone.
If the email named a different phone or a different case, it is not this settlement. The older Siri recordings case is separate (see below).
What It Pays
Nothing is paid before final approval. The hearing is February 24, 2027, and payments follow months after that. You can choose PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit or a paper check; a digital payment requires filing online.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 25,309 other fraud casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2026, 27.6% of them filed as class actions:
- 17.1% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 22.9% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 17.1% and 39.9%.
- 10.2% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 112 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 29.9 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7 months.
- Only 761 of them (3%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $663,000.

Three Things to Watch For
The real email already looks suspicious to many people — a new domain, a redirect, a big brand. That makes copies easy:
Lookalike domains with “apple” in the name
The two real addresses are smartphoneaisettlement.com and aplsconnect.com/smartphoneaisettlement. A link to anything else claiming to be the Apple AI settlement is not the administrator. When in doubt, type smartphoneaisettlement.com yourself instead of clicking.
Requests for your Apple Account password
The claim form asks for your contact details, the phone's serial number and how to pay you. The steps reported by the press ask for a Claim ID and PIN if you have one, personal details, the phone's serial number and a payment method (PayPal, Venmo, ACH or check). A form that asks for your Apple Account password or a verification code goes well beyond that and is a red flag.
“We'll file for you” services
Filing is free and takes minutes. Nobody needs a fee to “speed up” or “guarantee” your payment; nothing is paid before the February 24, 2027 hearing anyway.
Smartphone AI Settlement — Questions People Actually Ask
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.
So, is smartphoneaisettlement.com legit?
Yes. It is the website of the $250 million smartphone ai settlement, which has preliminary court approval in Landsheft v. Apple Inc., run by Verita Global, the administrator the court appointed on July 17, 2026. Class counsel and news reports point to the same address.
Why does the email link go to aplsconnect.com instead?
Because that is where the claim form runs. Notice emails send you through e.veritaclaims.com, Verita's email domain, to aplsconnect.com/smartphoneaisettlement with a personal key in the link. Starting at smartphoneaisettlement.com and pressing File a Claim reaches the same form.
Why do scam-checker sites flag aplsconnect.com?
Those sites score heavily on domain age, and aplsconnect.com is new — its certificate dates from September 9, 2026. A low automated score is not evidence of fraud here; the address matches the official filing instructions.
How to file a claim for an Apple AI lawsuit?
Go to smartphoneaisettlement.com and choose File a Claim, or use the link in your notice. Enter your Claim ID and PIN if you have them, or file without them. Give your details, each phone's serial number and a payment method. Deadline: December 21, 2026. Questions: 1-888-988-8945.
How much will each person get for Apple settlement?
About $25 per eligible iPhone, adjusted pro rata — up to $95 per device if claims are low, less if they are high. A person with two eligible phones files for both. Final figures depend on the claim count.
What is the lawsuit against Apple regarding the iPhone 15 Pro Max?
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is one of seven covered models. The lawsuit alleges Apple sold the iPhone 15 Pro models and the iPhone 16 line on the strength of Apple Intelligence and enhanced-Siri features that were not available. Apple denies wrongdoing. For Apple's other cases, see our Apple lawsuit overview.
Is this the same as the $95 million Siri settlement?
No. The $95 million case, Lopez v. Apple, was about Siri recording private conversations; it is closed to new claims and has its own administrator. An email about Lopez Voice Assistant is a different matter — see our Siri settlement tracker.
When will I get paid?
Not before the final approval hearing on February 24, 2027, and reports expect payments several months after it. If you file by December 21, 2026 and the settlement is approved, you are paid by the method you chose.
