The Adventist Health lawsuit in the news is a California state-court case over the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics on Adventist Health’s website, health-risk quizzes and patient portal. A trial judge refused to let it go forward as a class action in February 2025. On July 24, 2026 the Court of Appeal partly reversed that ruling and sent it back. There is no Adventist Health settlement in this case, no fund and no claim form.

What the Adventist Health Class Action Lawsuit Says
Four patients, suing as Does, allege that Adventist Health System/West — the Roseville-based system with hospitals across California, the West Coast and Hawaii — shared their data with Meta and Google without telling them. According to the court’s opinion, between 2017 and 2024 Adventist ran the Meta Pixel and/or Google Analytics on adventisthealth.org, on its patient portal at myadventisthealth.org and on adventisthealthhra.org, where people filled out online health risk assessments (HRAs).
The lawsuit alleges the trackers sent page visits, searches, form entries and patient status to Meta and Google, which used them for advertising. The claims are under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA), plus unfair-competition and privacy claims. Adventist Health has not been found liable; these are allegations.
One detail matters for portal users: the opinion says Adventist installed only Google Analytics in the patient portal, not the Meta Pixel, and that Cerner, which hosted the portal, removed Google Analytics in May 2023.
Case Details
Trial court: Jane Doe v. Adventist Health Care Network, Inc., et al., No. 22STCV36304, Los Angeles County Superior Court, Judge Laura A. Seigle. Online docket indexes date the complaint to November 2022.
Appeal: Doe v. Adventist Health System/West, No. B344951, California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Three. The opinion was filed July 24, 2026 and certified for publication on August 24, 2026 (read the opinion).
This is a state case, not a federal one, and it is a different case from the AdventHealth matters — AdventHealth is a separate Florida-based system.
Status: Sent Back to the Trial Court, No Settlement
Plain meaning: the case can now move forward again as a possible class action in Los Angeles. As of October 8, 2026 we found no report of a settlement, a California Supreme Court review petition or a trial date. There is no Adventist Health settlement, no fund, no administrator, no claim form and no deadline in this case.

Who Would Be in the Class
The plaintiffs asked to certify Adventist Health patients with a California address who, from November 16, 2017 to April 30, 2024, used the Adventist website or patient portal to research conditions or treatments, find a doctor, make an appointment or submit a health risk assessment. The two groups the appeal revived are narrower:
HRA form subclass: patients who submitted an online health risk assessment form to Adventist.
Patient portal subclass: patients who were logged into the Adventist patient portal up until May 2023.
You do not sign up to be in a class. If a class is certified or a case settles, notice goes out to members. Our patient-portal check asks whether you used the website or the portal, what you did there and when you last did it — the same facts that decide which group you would fall into.
Is There Money? Not From This Case Yet
A separate Adventist Health data breach did produce money. Signature Performance, a collections vendor for Adventist Health Tulare, was hit in a January 2024 incident. It agreed to a proposed $8.5 million settlement offering documented losses up to $5,000, an estimated $200 without receipts, an estimated $200 extra for California subclass members and three years of medical data monitoring. The claim deadline was May 7, 2026 and has passed. Signature Performance denied wrongdoing. Our data breach settlement calculator explains how payments like these are split.

Three Things to Watch For
An appeals ruling in the news and two similar-sounding health systems make this case easy to exploit:
“Claim your Adventist Health pixel settlement”
There is no settlement in the tracking case, so there is no claims site. A page asking for your Social Security number or portal login to “reserve your payment” is collecting data, not filing a claim.
Late offers for the Signature Performance money
The Signature Performance claim deadline was May 7, 2026. The official site is signaturedatabreachsettlement.com and the administrator is Verita. Anyone charging a fee to file a late claim for you cannot deliver it.
AdventHealth and Advent Health Partners mail
AdventHealth (Florida) and Advent Health Partners are different companies from Adventist Health. A notice or call about their breaches says nothing about your Adventist Health records — check the sender before acting.
Adventist Health Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there an Adventist Health MyChart lawsuit?
Not under the name MyChart. The Adventist Health MyChart lawsuit people search for is Doe v. Adventist Health System/West, a California state-court class action over the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics on Adventist’s website, HRA site and patient portal. On July 24, 2026 the Court of Appeal partly revived it (No. B344951).
Is there an Adventist Health settlement I can claim now?
No. As of October 8, 2026 the tracking case has no settlement, fund or claim form. The only recent class settlement tied to Adventist Health patients is the Signature Performance breach deal, and its claim deadline of May 7, 2026 has passed.
Is the Adventist Health patient portal MyChart?
The court opinion describes the portal as myadventisthealth.org — MyAdventistHealth — hosted by Cerner, not Epic’s MyChart. If your clinic’s portal looks different, check the address bar to see which system you used.
Was the Meta Pixel inside the patient portal?
According to the appellate opinion, no: Adventist installed only Google Analytics on the patient portal, and Cerner removed it in May 2023. The Meta Pixel is alleged on the public website and the HRA website.
What was the Adventist Health data breach at Signature Performance?
Signature Performance, which handled payment collections for Adventist Health Tulare, reported a January 2024 incident; ClassAction.org reported 70,802 Tulare patients affected. The case, McClean v. Signature Performance, Inc., No. STK-CV-UBT-0016713, was before Judge Robert T. Waters in San Joaquin County Superior Court. The official settlement site set a final approval hearing for April 21, 2026; we could not confirm the outcome or a payment date.
Is AdventHealth the same as Adventist Health?
No. Adventist Health is based in Roseville, California and serves the West Coast and Hawaii. AdventHealth is a separate Florida-based system with its own cases — see our AdventHealth page.
Are there other Adventist Health lawsuits or settlements?
Yes, but none is open to patients. On June 19, 2024 the California Attorney General announced a settlement with Adventist Health Hanford, including $10,000 in civil penalties, over disclosures of two patients’ medical information to law enforcement. News reports say Adventist Health Sonora agreed to pay $18.5 million to seven women who alleged abuse by a physical therapist; those were individual claims, not a class action.
What should I do right now?
Nothing needs filing. Note whether you used the Adventist website, an online health risk assessment or the portal before May 2023, and keep any letters you receive about this case. If you got a Signature Performance breach notice, freeze your credit and watch insurer statements for care you never received.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
