What the Venetian Las Vegas Lawsuit Alleged
The venetian las vegas lawsuit is Vasquez v. Venetian Las Vegas Gaming, LLC. It alleged that the resort's website disclosed users' guest record information and confidential communications to third parties without permission, in violation of Cal. Penal Code §§ 631-632, the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA). According to ClassAction.org, the third parties named include Heap, Google and Meta.
Venetian denies that it violated any law. It agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continuing the case. No court ruled on who was right.

Don't miss the claim deadline
Claims are due by November 24, 2026. We'll email you 7 days and 1 day before the deadline.
Who Can Claim
There are two classes. Both are limited to California residents who were in California at the time, between September 18, 2024 and March 16, 2026:
Browsing class: you accessed or navigated VenetianLasVegas.com. Based on Venetian's records, about 996,705 people.
Booking class: you made a reservation for a Venetian hotel stay through VenetianLasVegas.com. About 35,159 people.
You can be in both. Booking by phone or through a travel site does not count. Visiting from Nevada or another state does not count, even if you live in California. To claim, you sign a statement (an attestation) that you fit the class. You do not upload receipts or booking records.
How Much the Venetian Las Vegas Settlement Pays
Booking fund: $931,713.50, estimated at about $71.39 per claimant if 20 percent of bookers claim.
Browsing fund: $668,286.50, estimated at about $3.60 per claimant if 10 percent of browsers claim.
Those are estimates, not promises. Each pot is shared equally among valid claims, so more claims mean smaller checks. Administration costs, attorneys' fees (capped at one-third, up to $533,333.33) and a $5,000 service award come out proportionally from both pots first.
Payment is expected about 45 days after final approval and any appeals, according to the notice (the settlement agreement allows up to 60 days after the Effective Date), by check, PayPal or Venmo. Checks expire 180 days after they are issued. If you do nothing, you get nothing and give up your right to sue over these claims.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 111,990 other personal injury casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2025, 3.6% of them filed as class actions:
- 39.9% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 13.8% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 39.9% and 53.7%.
- 5.7% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 106 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 23.9 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 9 months.
- Only 771 of them (0.7%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $500,000.

Three Things to Watch For
A real notice that looks like spam is easy to copy. Watch for these:
Lookalike claim sites
The only claim site is VenetianLasVegasSettlement.com. A page with a different address asking for your card number, Social Security number or a “processing fee” is not the settlement.
Fake resort rewards or comp offers
The settlement pays cash by check, PayPal or Venmo — not free nights, casino credits or loyalty points. An email promising room upgrades “from the settlement” is marketing or phishing.
Requests for booking records or payment details
Claims are self-attested. The real form asks for your contact details and how you want to be paid, not your credit card or account password. If unsure, call the administrator at 877-367-1772.
