Walmart's Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter Recalled in 19 States Over Salmonella

The recall covers Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter in 6.7 oz (190 g) glass jars, sold exclusively at Walmart:

• Lot code: LB028ACP04
• Expiration date: January 28, 2027

Jars that do not carry that lot code and date are not part of the recall. The product was made by Gustibus Alimentari Srl in Italy and imported by Botticelli Foods.

The recall was announced on August 3, 2026 after potential Salmonella contamination was detected during a Florida Department of Agriculture inspection. Nineteen states are affected, including Alabama, Alaska and Florida.

Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhoea — which may be bloody — nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Young children, elderly people and anyone with a weakened immune system are at higher risk of severe illness.

As of the recall announcement, no illnesses had been reported and no lawsuit had been filed. A precautionary recall with no reported harm rarely produces a compensation fund; the refund is the remedy.

That picture can change if illnesses are later linked to the product. Anyone who became ill after eating it should keep the jar, the lot code and any medical records — those are the facts that matter later, and they are the ones people usually throw away.
