There is no Yelp settlement open to consumers, no claim form and no deadline as of October 2026. The Yelp lawsuit in the news is mostly Yelp suing Google — an antitrust case that won a key ruling on June 30, 2026. Separately, Texas is suing Yelp, and two wage-and-hour class actions by California employees were filed in 2026.

The Yelp Cases in the News
Several unrelated cases share the name, so it helps to separate them.
Yelp v. Google (Yelp is the plaintiff). Yelp filed suit on August 28, 2024, claiming under Section 2 of the Sherman Act that Google used its monopoly in general search to favor its own local results and reviews over rivals such as Yelp. Google denies the allegations. This is a business-versus-business case — it is not a class action and pays nothing to users.
Wage class actions (employees sue Yelp). A class action lawsuit against Yelp, No. 26STCV12045, alleges off-the-clock work and inaccurate wage statements. A second, Cuervo v. Yelp Inc., No. 26STCV12826, alleges hourly staff went unpaid for two to five minutes of computer boot-up time per shift, missed 30-minute meal and 10-minute rest breaks, and paid for work calls on personal phones. Yelp said it is reviewing the complaint.
Texas v. Yelp (state enforcement). In September 2023 the Texas Attorney General sued under the state Deceptive Trade Practices Act over a since-withdrawn warning Yelp placed on crisis pregnancy center listings. The state alleges the wording was misleading; Yelp disputes that.
Case Details
Yelp Inc. v. Google LLC, No. 5:24-cv-06101-SVK, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen.
Wage cases: No. 26STCV12045 and Cuervo v. Yelp Inc., No. 26STCV12826, both in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles — state court, not federal.
Texas case: a Texas state trial court. Yelp's own preemptive suit against the Attorney General in the Northern District of California was dismissed in February 2024.
Status: No Settlement, No Claim Form
Yelp v. Google: on June 30, 2026 Judge van Keulen granted in part Yelp's motion for issue preclusion. Google cannot relitigate that general search is a market or that it held monopoly power there from at least 2009 to August 2024 — findings from the Justice Department's case. Yelp must still prove that Google abused that power and that Yelp was harmed. Trial is expected in 2028.
Wage class actions: pending in Los Angeles; no class has been certified and nothing has been paid.
Texas v. Yelp: a trial court first dismissed it for lack of jurisdiction; in October 2025 the 15th Court of Appeals reversed, and the Texas Supreme Court declined review. The case is back in the trial court, and no court has ruled on the merits.

Who Could Be Affected
Yelp users and reviewers: not part of any current yelp class action. The Google case is Yelp's own claim.
Yelp employees in California: the wage suits seek classes of current and former nonexempt (hourly) Yelp employees in California. You do not need to sign up; if a class is certified or a settlement is reached, notice comes from a court-appointed administrator. Keep your pay stubs and time records.
Investors: the 2018 securities class action (No. 18-cv-00400) covered buyers of Yelp stock between February 10, 2017 and May 9, 2017. It settled and is closed.
Business owners: if a false review is the problem, that is an individual defamation question, not a class action — see our defamation lawyer guide.
Is There Money? Not Right Now
Two past matters did pay. The securities case settled for $22,250,000, with final approval on January 27, 2023; it is concluded and claims are closed. In December 2023 Yelp and counsel for more than 400,000 business owners asked a San Francisco judge to approve a $15 million settlement over allegedly recorded one-way sales calls, according to the Daily Journal. We could not confirm that deal's final approval or payment schedule from a primary source, so treat any current “claim” for it with suspicion.
If the wage cases resolve, payments in California wage settlements usually depend on the weeks each employee worked — no court has valued these claims.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 6,659 antitrust casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2025, 37.3% of them filed as class actions:
- 19.7% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 14.4% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 19.7% and 34.1%.
- 11.6% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 121 reached a trial (0.8%), after a median of 37 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 12.3 months.
- Almost none record a money award in this data (32 of 6,659), and the recorded figures are capped, so we do not publish an average.

All three lines of litigation are active. There is no fund, no claim form and no deadline for consumers.
Three Things to Watch For
A well-known brand with active cases and no payout is easy to exploit:
“Claim your Yelp settlement” pages
No current Yelp case has a claims portal. A site asking for your bank details or Social Security number to release a “Yelp payment” is not connected to any court.
“Yelp v. Google owes reviewers money”
The Google case is Yelp's own lawsuit, not a class action. Even a win would pay Yelp, not people who post reviews or use the app.
Sign-up ads for a “Yelp claim”
Ads inviting you to “join” a Yelp claim are law-firm intake forms, not settlements. Read what you sign — it may be a retainer or an arbitration agreement.
Yelp Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there a Yelp class action lawsuit right now?
Yes, from employees. Two wage-and-hour cases by California hourly workers, Nos. 26STCV12045 and 26STCV12826, are pending in Los Angeles County Superior Court as of October 2026. There is no consumer class action lawsuit Yelp faces with an open settlement; searches for a class action lawsuit Yelp consumers can join find only these employee cases.
Is there a Yelp settlement I can file a claim for?
No. As of October 2026 there is no open Yelp settlement, claim form or deadline. The 2018 securities case ($22,250,000) received final approval on January 27, 2023 and is closed.
What is the Yelp v. Google lawsuit about?
Yelp alleges Google abused its search monopoly to push its own local results and reviews above rivals, starting with a 2007 redesign of its results page. On June 30, 2026 the court ruled Google cannot relitigate its monopoly power from at least 2009 to August 2024. Yelp must still prove abuse and harm; trial is expected in 2028.
Will Yelp users get money if Yelp beats Google?
No. Yelp is suing for its own losses. It is not a class action, so users, reviewers and advertisers are not class members.
What is the class action lawsuit against Yelp by employees?
Two employee class actions are pending against Yelp. Both allege off-the-clock work and inaccurate wage statements. The Cuervo complaint adds two to five minutes of unpaid computer boot-up time, missed meal and rest breaks, overtime calculated without nondiscretionary bonuses and shift differentials, unreimbursed personal phone use and late final pay. Yelp said it is reviewing the complaint. Nothing has been proven.
Why is Texas suing Yelp?
Texas alleges Yelp's original warning on crisis pregnancy center listings was misleading. Yelp changed the wording in February 2023. After the 15th Court of Appeals reversed a jurisdiction dismissal in October 2025, the case returned to the trial court. It is a state enforcement case; it pays nothing to individuals.
What happened to the Yelp sales-call recording case?
In December 2023 the parties asked a San Francisco judge to preliminarily approve a $15 million class action involving more than 400,000 business owners, per the Daily Journal. We could not verify the final outcome from a primary source. Any notice about it should come from a court-appointed administrator, not a cold call.
Can I sue over a Yelp review?
A false review can support an individual defamation claim against the person who wrote it; it is not a class action against Yelp. See our defamation lawyer guide for how those cases work.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
