As of October 6, 2026, we found no Trinity Health MyChart lawsuit over Meta Pixel, Google or other tracking on Trinity Health websites or the Trinity Health MyChart portal. What does exist: a $450,000 settlement over a 2021 file-transfer breach that is now paying California class members, a 2023 suit over a cyberattack at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton in Iowa, and a 2026 federal case in Michigan over patient records allegedly pulled through Health Gorilla, a company whose data cases have been centralized in a multidistrict litigation in Florida.

What Each Trinity Health Lawsuit Is About
Trinity Health is a Livonia, Michigan-based Catholic system that runs more than 92 hospitals in 22 states under regional names such as Trinity Health Michigan, St. Joseph's and Mercy. Its patient portal is Trinity Health MyChart. Mercy Health in Ohio (Bon Secours Mercy) is a different system.
No tracking case. Hospital pixel suits allege that a hospital's website or MyChart login sent page visits to Meta or Google. We searched for one naming Trinity Health or its regional brands and found none.
The Health Gorilla case (2026). On January 13, 2026, a health information exchange partner told Trinity Health that patient records may have been requested through Health Gorilla, an interoperability platform, by companies that claimed a treatment purpose the exchange could not verify. The records may include clinical care details, demographics, insurance information and possibly driver's license numbers. Trinity Health reported 2,740 individuals to the HHS Office for Civil Rights. The class action alleges Trinity Health and Health Gorilla failed to protect that data. Trinity Health is also a plaintiff, alongside Epic and others, in a separate suit against Health Gorilla.
The Iowa cyberattack (2023). Hackers were inside systems at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton from March 7 to April 7, 2023, affecting 21,000 patients. The lawsuit alleges inadequate security and monitoring.
The Accellion breach (2021). Files on a secure file-transfer tool were downloaded through a zero-day flaw. They held names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, lab results, Social Security numbers and credit card information for 18,153 California residents.
Case Details
Health Gorilla: Jackson v. Trinity Health Corporation et al., No. 2:26-cv-10948, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, filed March 20, 2026 against Trinity Health and Health Gorilla. On August 7, 2026 the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation centralized nine Health Gorilla cases — including two from the Eastern District of Michigan — in the Southern District of Florida before Judge Michael Moore, docketed as MDL No. 3193. We could not confirm from the order itself that Jackson is one of those two Michigan cases. Trinity Health waived oral argument on transfer.
Accellion: Jane Doe v. Trinity Health Corporation, Case No. 21CECG01454, Fresno County Superior Court (California state court), Hon. Jonathan Skiles. Administrator: Kroll Settlement Administration.
Iowa: Medenblik v. Trinity Health Corporation et al., U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, filed June 12, 2023. We could not confirm its outcome.
Status: No Tracking Case, One Settlement Paying, One MDL
Accellion settlement: closed, paying. The claim deadline was January 19, 2026. Final approval was granted June 11, 2026, and the administrator began paying approved claimants on September 23, 2026, according to ClaimDepot. Nobody can file a new claim.
Health Gorilla MDL: pretrial. No settlement, no fund, no claim form and no deadline.
Iowa case: status not confirmed. We found no settlement notice for it.
Are You Affected?
Tracking: no case exists, so there is no class to be in. If you used a Trinity Health website or Trinity Health MyChart to book visits, read results or message a doctor, our form on this page asks which one you used, what you did there and when you last did it. That helps us spot a case if one is filed. It is not a claim.
Accellion: only the 18,153 California residents mailed a notice about the January 2021 incident. The claim window has closed.
Health Gorilla: check your mail for a Trinity Health letter about a “data-sharing network” or health information exchange. Keep it.
Iowa: patients notified by Mercy Medical Center – Clinton about the 2023 attack.
What Trinity Health Cases Have Paid
Accellion: a $450,000 fund, minus up to $150,000 in attorneys' fees, $25,000 in expenses, a $5,000 service award and administration costs. Class members could claim up to $1,000 in documented losses plus a cash payment estimated at $231 if 5% filed, $115 at 10% and $11 if everyone filed. Money left more than 120 days after payment may go out again if the average share is at least $10.
For context only, hospital tracking settlements elsewhere have included Loyola Medicine ($2.67M, closed), The Christ Hospital ($7,000,000, more than 323,000 people) and Wellstar ($4.25 million). None of those involve Trinity Health. Use the MyChart settlement calculator or the data breach settlement calculator for typical ranges.

Three Things to Watch For
Two real Trinity Health breach notices and a lot of MyChart settlement news make easy cover for fakes:
“Trinity Health MyChart settlement” claim pages
There is no Trinity Health tracking settlement. A site asking for your MyChart login or Social Security number to “claim your share” is collecting data, not filing anything.
Late “Accellion payment” messages
The Accellion window closed January 19, 2026, and only California class members who filed are being paid. A message asking for a fee or bank login to release that payment is not from Kroll.
Calls about the Health Gorilla breach
Trinity Health's assistance line for that notice is 1-833-877-5364, and monitoring is offered through Cyberscout. Call that number yourself rather than trusting a caller who already “knows” your diagnosis.
Trinity Health Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there a Trinity Health MyChart lawsuit over Meta or Google tracking?
Not that we could find as of October 6, 2026. We found no lawsuit, settlement or claim form over pixels or analytics on Trinity Health websites or Trinity Health MyChart. If one is filed, we will update this page.
What is the Trinity Health data breach in the news?
The Health Gorilla incident. On January 13, 2026 Trinity Health learned that records may have been pulled through a health information exchange by companies claiming a treatment purpose. Trinity Health reported 2,740 people to federal regulators and is offering 24 months of credit monitoring.
Is there a Trinity Health settlement I can file for?
No. The only settlement, over the 2021 Accellion breach, covered 18,153 California residents and closed to claims on January 19, 2026. Payments began September 23, 2026. Nothing else is open.
How much did the Accellion settlement pay?
Up to $1,000 for documented losses plus a pro rata cash payment, estimated at $231 if 5% of the class filed and $11 if everyone did. The real figure depends on how many people filed.
What portal does Trinity Health use?
Trinity Health MyChart, which runs on Epic's MyChart software. Being a MyChart user does not put you in any case by itself — pixel cases are brought against individual hospitals, not Epic.
Is this the same as Mercy Health in Ohio?
No. Mercy Health in Ohio belongs to Bon Secours Mercy Health. Trinity Health's Mercy hospitals include Mercy Medical Center – Clinton in Iowa, the subject of the 2023 suit.
I got a Trinity Health letter about a data-sharing network. Is it real?
Trinity Health did mail notices about the Health Gorilla incident. To check yours, call the number on the letter or 1-833-877-5364 yourself. Do not use links or numbers from an unexpected email or text.
What should I do right now?
Keep any notice letter. Read your insurer's explanation-of-benefits statements for care you never got. Enroll in the offered monitoring if you were notified. If you used a Trinity Health site or MyChart, you can note what you did there in our form, and check the MyChart claim form page for open hospital cases elsewhere.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
