Multiple Myeloma Lawsuit: No Class Action Exists — What Does

Reference Guide

Get a free case reviewCase status

Searching for a class action lawsuit for multiple myeloma mostly turns up law-firm ads, not a case. As of October 2026 there is no multiple myeloma class action: no fund, no claim form, no deadline. What does exist depends on how you were exposed — a government settlement grid for Camp Lejeune, VA presumptions for Camp Lejeune and Agent Orange, and individual injury suits. The $7.25 billion Roundup class settlement, still awaiting final approval, is written for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, not myeloma.

What Multiple Myeloma Lawsuits Claim

Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer of plasma cells. A multiple myeloma lawsuit is almost always an individual claim: the plaintiff alleges that a specific exposure caused their disease, or that a doctor missed it. Whether a chemical caused one person's cancer depends on dose, duration and other risk factors, which is why these claims are rarely brought as class actions.

The science courts look at is mixed. The American Cancer Society says people “exposed to radiation or to certain chemicals may be at higher risk for developing myeloma,” with some evidence for herbicides such as Agent Orange. For Camp Lejeune, the government's own settlement framework puts multiple myeloma in Tier 2 — illnesses where the federal ATSDR found evidence at the “equipoise and above” level for a link to contaminants in the base water.

Roundup suits allege glyphosate causes cancer. In 2015 the WHO's cancer agency classified glyphosate as probably carcinogenic; the EPA found in 2017 that it was not likely to cause cancer. Bayer denies that glyphosate causes cancer. Missed-diagnosis claims are malpractice cases — see our cancer misdiagnosis guide.

Case details

There is no single multiple myeloma court. The proceedings that actually affect myeloma patients are separate:

Camp Lejeune: claims under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act go first to the Department of the Navy, then to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The government filed its Elective Option settlement grid there in In re Camp Lejeune Water Litigation, No. 7:23-cv-00897.

Roundup: the $7.25 billion class settlement sits in a state court, the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, before Judge Timothy Boyer. Separately, the U.S. Supreme Court decided Monsanto Co. v. Durnell, No. 24-1068, on June 25, 2026, holding 7–2 that federal pesticide law preempts state claims that Roundup's label needed a cancer warning.

Revlimid: antitrust class actions over Celgene's myeloma drug were filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey beginning in November 2014. Those are price cases brought mainly by purchasers, not injury cases.

Status: No Myeloma Class Action, Several Separate Routes

As of October 2026, no multiple myeloma class action is open for claims. No court has certified a class of myeloma patients, and no fund, administrator or claim form exists for one. Anything selling a “multiple myeloma class action settlement” is describing something that does not exist.

Roundup: the official settlement site says registration and claims are not open because the court has not granted final approval. The final approval hearing was held on September 14, 2026. The class is defined around non-Hodgkin lymphoma; multiple myeloma is not named. More on our Roundup final approval page.

Camp Lejeune: the Justice Department says it is no longer accepting additional Elective Option documentation. As of September 18, 2026, settlement offers under the Act exceeded $1.1 billion and payouts exceeded $879 million.

Revlimid: the original class settlement received final approval in October 2020. In Bristol Myers Squibb's quarterly report for the period ending June 30, 2026, motions to dismiss the follow-on suits were described as pending.

Which Route Fits Your Exposure

Camp Lejeune (veterans and family members): the VA treats multiple myeloma as a presumptive condition if you served, lived or worked at Camp Lejeune or MCAS New River for at least 30 days total between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987. Family members can apply through the Camp Lejeune Family Member Program (VA Form 10-10068). A Justice Act claim is a separate track — it starts with an administrative claim to the Navy, and a federal lawsuit is only possible after the Navy denies the claim or six months pass.

Vietnam-era veterans: multiple myeloma is on the VA's Agent Orange presumptive list, so you do not have to prove the cancer was caused by service.

Roundup users: anyone exposed in the U.S. before February 17, 2026 who did not opt out by June 4, 2026 is a class member, even if never diagnosed with cancer. If you have myeloma rather than lymphoma, read the official notice on what claims are released before you rely on suing later.

Workplace exposure: most job-related cancer claims run through workers' compensation first — see how a workers' comp claim works.

What Multiple Myeloma Claims Actually Pay

There is no multiple myeloma class settlement, no fund and no claim form, so there is no per-person class payout to estimate.

Camp Lejeune is the one place with a published myeloma number. Under the Elective Option grid, a Tier 2 illness such as multiple myeloma was offered $100,000 for 30 to 364 days at the base, $250,000 for 1 to 5 years and $400,000 for more than 5 years. Claims involving death got an additional $100,000, for a maximum of $550,000. Tier 1 cancers were offered $150,000, $300,000 or $450,000. Accepting an offer does not reduce VA benefits.

Roundup: the official site lists awards of $6,000 to $165,000+ for people with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, paid over up to 21 years. Nothing in the official materials assigns an amount to multiple myeloma.

Individual lawsuits have no schedule: what a case is worth depends on proof of causation, and after Durnell failure-to-warn claims over pesticide labels are much harder to bring.

Multiple Myeloma Litigation Timeline

  1. November 2014 — Revlimid Price Class Actions Begin

Antitrust class actions are filed against Celgene in New Jersey over its myeloma drug Revlimid. A class settlement gets final approval in October 2020.

  2. September 6, 2023 — Camp Lejeune Elective Option

The Justice Department and the Navy publish a fixed settlement grid. Multiple myeloma is listed as a Tier 2 illness, with offers of $100,000 to $400,000.

  3. February 17, 2026 — $7.25 Billion Roundup Deal

Monsanto announces a class settlement for people exposed to Roundup, built around non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Preliminary approval follows on March 4, 2026.

  4. June 4, 2026 — Roundup Opt-Out Deadline Passes

The deadline to opt out of or object to the Roundup class settlement closes. Anyone exposed who stayed in is bound by the deal if it is approved.

  5. June 25, 2026 — Supreme Court Decides Durnell

The Court holds 7–2 that federal pesticide law preempts state failure-to-warn claims over Roundup's label.

  6. October 2026 — Waiting on Roundup Approval

The St. Louis court held the final approval hearing on September 14, 2026; the official site still lists claims as not open. No multiple myeloma class action exists.

Three Things to Watch For

With no real myeloma class to join, searches for one are exactly the gap lead-generators fill:

“Join the multiple myeloma class action” forms

There is no certified myeloma class to join. A form asking for your diagnosis, Social Security number and medical history to “secure your share” is usually a lead sold to law firms — not a filing with any court.

“Register now for Roundup myeloma money”

Roundup registration is not open, and the deal is built around non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The only official site is weedkillerclass.com; nobody legitimate charges a fee to register you.

Camp Lejeune fee pitches

Justice Department policy caps Camp Lejeune attorney fees at 20% for administrative claims and 25% for suits filed in court. Anyone asking for more, or promising a new Elective Option payout, deserves a hard second look.

Multiple Myeloma Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask

Short answers to the questions people ask most about this case.

Is there a multiple myeloma class action lawsuit?

No. As of October 2026 no court has certified a class of multiple myeloma patients, and there is no myeloma settlement fund or claim form. Myeloma claims are brought individually or through specific programs such as the Camp Lejeune Elective Option and VA presumptive benefits.

Does the Roundup settlement cover multiple myeloma?

The official site describes the $7.25 billion class as people exposed before February 17, 2026 who are diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma now or in the future. Multiple myeloma is not named. The court had not granted final approval as of October 2026.

How much is a Camp Lejeune multiple myeloma settlement?

Under the Elective Option grid, multiple myeloma was a Tier 2 illness: $100,000 for 30 to 364 days of exposure, $250,000 for 1 to 5 years, $400,000 for over 5 years, plus $100,000 in death cases. The Justice Department says it is no longer accepting additional Elective Option documentation.

What chemicals can cause multiple myeloma?

The American Cancer Society says exposure to radiation or certain chemicals may raise the risk, with some evidence for herbicides such as Agent Orange. The VA presumes service connection for Agent Orange and Camp Lejeune exposure, and federal ATSDR evidence ties Camp Lejeune water contaminants to myeloma at the equipoise-and-above level. Having MGUS also raises risk.

What is the survival rate for multiple myeloma?

The National Cancer Institute's SEER program reports a 5-year relative survival of 63.7% for 2016–2022 diagnoses, and estimates 36,000 new cases and 10,850 deaths in 2026. Myeloma deaths are most common among people aged 75–84. These are population figures; your oncologist is the right source for your own outlook. This page does not cover 10-year or age-specific survival.

Can veterans get benefits for multiple myeloma?

Yes, in two cases the VA treats it as presumptive: Agent Orange exposure, and at least 30 days at Camp Lejeune or MCAS New River between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987. You do not have to prove the cancer was caused by service. Our VA disability calculator explains ratings.

Can patients get money from the Revlimid lawsuits?

Those are antitrust cases about the drug's price, not injury cases. The first class settlement received final approval in October 2020; follow-on suits in New Jersey were pending on motions to dismiss as of mid-2026. They do not compensate anyone for having myeloma.

What should I do right now?

Write down where and when you were exposed (base, job, product) and keep your diagnosis records. Veterans should file with the VA. If you used Roundup, read the notice at weedkillerclass.com. For an individual claim, speak with a licensed attorney soon — state filing deadlines can run from diagnosis.
