What the Vesync Class Action Is About
This is a labelling case, not a safety case. The lawsuit challenges “True HEPA,” “HEPA” and “H13” claims on Levoit-branded Core and EverestAir air purifiers and their replacement filters. According to the complaint, as summarized by ClassAction.org, testing by the plaintiffs’ lawyers showed the filters did not meet HEPA standards or capture 99.97 percent of particles at 0.3 microns.
Those are allegations. The court never decided them. Vesync “unequivocally denies all allegations,” and in the settlement agreement it maintains that the challenged statements “are, in fact, true.” It settled to avoid the cost and risk of further litigation.
Case Details
The Vesync settlement runs through Sen et al. v. Vesync (US) Corp., Case No. 510627/2026, in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Kings County, before Judge Katherine Levine. It resolves three earlier federal suits over the same labels: Chen v. Vesync Corporation, No. 3:23-cv-04458 (N.D. Cal.); Tepper v. Vesync Corporation, No. 7:24-cv-08430 (S.D.N.Y.); and Menter v. Vesync Corp., No. 3:24-cv-12786 (D. Mass.).

Status: Settled, Claims Open Until November 3, 2026
Other Vesync cases, briefly. Vesync’s affiliate Atekcity recalled about 2 million Cosori air fryers in the U.S. on February 23, 2023 (CPSC recall 23130) over a wire connection that can overheat. That recall offers a free replacement; we found no class action settlement tied to it. Federal dockets also show patent and trademark disputes between businesses and an insurer’s 2026 property-damage suit against Atekcity (No. 5:26-cv-00042, M.D. Ga.). None of these pays consumers. The HEPA settlement is the only Vesync class action with a claim form we found.
Don't miss the claim deadline
Claims are due by November 3, 2026. We'll email you 7 days and 1 day before the deadline.
Who Can Claim
You are in the class if you bought a Levoit Core or EverestAir air purifier, or a replacement filter, with “True HEPA,” “HEPA” or “H13” language in the United States between August 29, 2019 and August 4, 2023.
You are not in if:
— You bought after August 4, 2023.
— You bought a different Levoit line, or a Cosori air fryer.
— You bought directly from Vesync’s website or app. The settlement agreement excludes those buyers because they agreed to arbitration and a class-action waiver.
Most sales ran through Amazon, according to the agreement, so the administrator emailed buyers found in Amazon records. Not getting an email does not mean you are out; you can still file online with proof.
How Much the Vesync Settlement Pays
Payments are capped at $15,000,000 in total. If valid claims add up to more, every payment is cut proportionally. Attorneys’ fees and costs of up to $5,244,500 and service awards of $11,500 are paid separately by Vesync and do not reduce the $15 million.
Proof of purchase showing the original purchase date is required. Under the agreement, payments go out within 60 days of the settlement becoming final or 30 days after all claims are processed, whichever is later. The notice warns that appeals can take more than one year, so do not expect money before 2027. Our payout calculator shows how capped settlements shrink.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 24,037 other fraud casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2025, 27.4% of them filed as class actions:
- 17.3% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 22.5% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 17.3% and 39.8%.
- 10.4% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 111 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 30 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7 months.
- Only 735 of them (3.1%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $663,000.

Three Vesync Settlement Traps
A real email with a strange company name, a $10 payout and an old recall make an easy mix for confusion:
“Your Cosori recall refund” messages
The 2023 Cosori recall gives a free replacement through recall.cosori.com, not cash, and it has nothing to do with the HEPA settlement. A message asking for a fee or bank details to “release your Vesync settlement refund” is not from either program.
Look-alike claim sites
The only official site is LAPsettlement.com, run by Apex Class Action. Filing is free and pays $10. A site that charges anything, asks for a Social Security number, or promises more than $10 is not the official one.
Clicking links in a forwarded notice
The genuine email carries a claim ID and PIN tied to your Amazon purchase. If the message was forwarded or looks off, do not click. Type LAPsettlement.com into your browser or call 1 (800) 837-2979.
Vesync Settlement — Questions People Ask
Is there a Vesync class action lawsuit?
Yes, and it has settled. Sen et al. v. Vesync (US) Corp. (Kings County, N.Y., No. 510627/2026) resolves claims that Levoit Core and EverestAir purifiers and filters were wrongly labelled “True HEPA,” “HEPA” or “H13.” Vesync denies wrongdoing.
Who is Vesync, and why did I get a notice from them?
Vesync is the company behind Levoit air purifiers; its affiliate Atekcity sold Cosori air fryers. The settlement notice names Vesync (US) Corp. because it is the defendant. If you bought a Levoit Core or EverestAir purifier or filter on Amazon in the class period, you were likely emailed from Amazon records.
Is the “Notice of Class Action Settlement with Vesync (US) Corp.” email real?
The administrator, Apex Class Action, emails notices using Amazon purchase records, so a genuine one exists. Do not rely on the link alone: type LAPsettlement.com into your browser, use the claim ID and PIN from the email, and never pay a fee.
How much does the Vesync settlement pay?
$10.00 per valid claim, one payment per person, sent digitally. It can be lower if valid claims exceed the $15,000,000 cap.
What is the deadline?
November 3, 2026, for claims, opt-outs and objections. Claims must be filed online at LAPsettlement.com; late claims are not accepted.
Do I need a receipt?
Yes. Proof of purchase showing the original purchase date is required. Your Amazon order history is the most likely place to find it.
Is there a Vesync settlement for Cosori air fryers?
We found none as of October 2026. The February 23, 2023 Cosori recall offers a free replacement air fryer or another Cosori product, with no receipt needed. That is a recall remedy, not a class action payment.
When will Vesync settlement payments be sent?
Not before the February 17, 2027 fairness hearing. Payments go out after final approval and any appeals are resolved. Meanwhile, see other open class action settlements you may qualify for.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
