As of October 6, 2026 we found no UCLA Health MyChart lawsuit and no settlement over Meta or Google tracking on uclahealth.org or myUCLAhealth, the UCLA Health patient portal. What is in the news is different: an August 2026 UCLA Health data breach notice about patient records disclosed to an outside health care provider. Law firms are investigating it. No lawsuit filed over it has turned up, and there is no claim form.

What UCLA Health Has Disclosed
There are two separate notices. Neither of them is a lawsuit.
The 2023 tracking notice. On January 13, 2023 UCLA Health said analytics tools on an appointment request form on its public website and mobile app may have sent limited information to third-party service providers. The form data covered April 2020 to June 2022 and included the page address (which could show a provider name or specialty), IP address, cookies and hashed name, email, address, phone and gender. About 94,000 patients were notified. UCLA Health says it did not place these tools within myUCLAhealth, and that it turned them off in June 2022.
The 2026 privacy incident. On August 3, 2026 UCLA Health said that patient information had been accessed in a way that broke its own privacy policies, and in some cases disclosed to an outside health care provider. UCLA Health found this on July 2, 2026. The filing with the California Attorney General gives December 27, 2024 and April 21, 2026 as the breach dates. The data may include name, address, date of birth, insurance information and clinical details such as referral orders. For some patients it also includes the last four digits of a Social Security number. UCLA Health says no full Social Security numbers or financial data were involved. It also says it has found no evidence of misuse.
Case Details
No court case against UCLA Health over tracking turned up in our search. The University of California Meta Pixel case that often comes up in searches is about UCSF, not UCLA. That case is Doe v. Regents of the University of California, No. 23-cv-00598-WHO in the Northern District of California. The complaint alleges the Meta Pixel ran on “both the UCSF website and the MyChart patient portal”. Judge William H. Orrick ruled on the motion to dismiss on May 8, 2023.
Separately, In re Meta Pixel Healthcare Litigation, No. 3:22-cv-03580 (N.D. Cal.), is brought against Meta, not against hospitals. It was still pending as of its latest listed filing, a class-certification motion dated September 30, 2025.
UCLA Health's last settled data breach case was Adlouni v. UCLA Health System Auxiliary, Case No. BC589243 in Los Angeles Superior Court, over the 2015 cyberattack.
Status: Reference Only, No Open Claim
After the 2023 notice, ClassAction.org advertised an investigation. That page now says the investigation is finished, and we found no lawsuit that came out of it.
For the 2026 incident, Dapeer Law and The Lyon Firm advertise investigations. We found no class action filed over it as of October 6, 2026. The one real deadline is in the notice letter. It offers 12 months of free Experian IdentityWorks, and you must enroll by October 31, 2026. That deadline is set by the letter. It is not a court deadline.
Could You Be Affected?
Tracking (website/app): UCLA Health says the exposure involved its appointment request form on uclahealth.org or the UCLA Health app, used between April 2020 and June 2022. Notice letters went out January 13, 2023. Logging into myUCLAhealth alone does not put you in that group, because UCLA Health says the tools were not in the portal.
2026 incident: You are affected if you received a letter mailed around August 4, 2026. Keep it. It holds your Experian activation code and is your proof if a case is ever filed. The UCLA Health assistance line is 833-745-1349.
Our form on this page asks whether you used the UCLA Health website or MyChart, what you did there and when you last used it. That helps you match your use against the facts above. The MyChart claim form guide explains how real hospital settlements check who is eligible.
What Is Payable — and What Other Hospitals Paid
When UCLA Health did settle a data breach case, it was over the 2015 cyberattack that affected 4.5 million patients. That settlement was $7.5 million. Of that, $2 million was set aside for claims and $5.5 million went to a cybersecurity fund. Patients could claim up to $5,000 for prevention costs and up to $20,000 for documented losses. Every claim deadline in that settlement has passed; the last one was June 18, 2021.
Other hospitals have settled tracking cases for these amounts:
• Wellstar: $4.25 million, about 870,000 patients, claims close November 10, 2026
• Duke: $3.74 million
• Cone Health: $1.765 million
• MemorialCare: $750,000 for 182,303 people
These are examples, not a forecast for UCLA Health. The MyChart settlement calculator and the data breach settlement calculator show how such funds are split.

Three Things to Watch For
The August 2026 letters and the many hospital MyChart settlements make UCLA patients an easy target:
“Claim your UCLA Health MyChart settlement”
There is no UCLA Health tracking settlement and no claims site. A page that asks for your myUCLAhealth login or Social Security number to “check eligibility” is collecting data. It is not filing a claim.
Fake Experian enrollment calls or texts
The real offer is in the paper letter, with an activation code you enter yourself by October 31, 2026. Experian does not need your full Social Security number from a cold call. If you are unsure, call the number printed in the letter.
Messages pretending to be myUCLAhealth
Emails about a “breach refund” that link to a look-alike login page are phishing. Type myUCLAhealth.org into your browser yourself, or open the MyChart app, instead of using a link.
UCLA Health MyChart Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there a UCLA Health MyChart lawsuit?
Not that we could find as of October 6, 2026. No suit against UCLA Health over Meta Pixel, Google or similar tracking on its website, app or myUCLAhealth turned up. The University of California pixel case in the news, Doe v. Regents (No. 23-cv-00598-WHO), is about UCSF.
What is the UCLA Health patient portal called?
myUCLAhealth. On phones it runs through Epic's MyChart app, which is why people search for “UCLA MyChart.”
Did UCLA Health share data with Meta or Google?
UCLA Health has not named the vendors. In January 2023 it said analytics tools on its website and app appointment request form may have sent data to third-party service providers from April 2020 to June 2022, and about 94,000 patients were notified. It says the tools were not in myUCLAhealth.
What is the August 2026 UCLA Health data breach?
Patient records were accessed in a way that broke UCLA Health policy, and some were disclosed to an outside health care provider. The breach dates are December 27, 2024 and April 21, 2026, and UCLA Health found the problem on July 2, 2026. The data includes name, address, date of birth, insurance and referral details, and for some patients the last four digits of a Social Security number. UCLA Health has not said publicly how many people are affected.
Is the UCLA Health breach letter real?
A sample of the letter is posted with the California Attorney General's breach notice for UCLA Health. It offers 12 months of Experian IdentityWorks, with enrollment by October 31, 2026. UCLA Health's own assistance line is 833-745-1349.
Is there a UCLA Health lawsuit I can join?
Not right now. Law firms are looking into the 2026 incident, but an investigation is not a lawsuit. If a class action is filed and settles, a court-appointed administrator notifies class members. You do not sign up in advance.
Can I still get money from the 2015 UCLA Health breach settlement?
No. That $7.5 million settlement (Adlouni, BC589243) is closed. Its last claim deadline, for documented losses, was June 18, 2021.
What should I do right now?
If you got the August 2026 letter, enroll in Experian before October 31, 2026 and keep the letter. Check your insurer's explanation-of-benefits statements for care you never received. If you want to see what real hospital settlements have paid, start with the MyChart claim form guide.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
