As of October 12, 2026, no MHCC settlement payment date has been announced. The $14 million McLaren Health Care data breach settlement won final approval on April 21, 2026, and claims closed April 29, 2026. The administrator, Angeion Group, has posted no payout date. The only per-person figure on record is an estimate of about $61.21 for each valid cash claim — an estimate, not a payment.

The Short Answer
This page covers only the money: when, how much and how. For what the case is about and who is in the class, see our MHCC settlement overview.
Is it paying? Not yet. When? No date has been published. The settlement agreement ties payment to two things, and both have to be done first: the approval has to become final, and Angeion has to finish reviewing claims. How much? Angeion estimated about $61.21 per valid cash claim in April 2026, before the claim deadline. That is an estimate, not a payment. Do I get money without a claim? No. Only people who filed a claim by April 29, 2026 are paid.
Case Details
The settlement was approved in Cindy Womack-Devereaux, et al. v. McLaren Health Care Corporation, Case No. 24-121459, in the 7th Judicial Circuit Court for Genesee County, Michigan, by Judge B. Chris Christenson. His order of April 21, 2026 granted final approval, entered judgment, and directed that the parties and the administrator “shall complete the claims process” and “thereafter, proceed with the issuance of Settlement Payments for all valid claims.”
A parallel federal case, No. 23-cv-12520 in the Eastern District of Michigan before Judge Matthew Leitman, is resolved by the same deal; the agreement says plaintiffs will voluntarily dismiss it once the state settlement is approved. There is no separate federal payout. The official site is MHCCSettlement.com.
Status: Approved, Claims Closed, No Payment Date
1. The approval must become final. The “Effective Date” is the first business day after the April 21, 2026 approval order is final — meaning the time for appeal has run out, or any appeal has been resolved. No objections were filed, according to class counsel's April 2026 declaration. We could not confirm from a public docket whether anyone appealed.
2. Claims must be processed. Angeion checks every claim for validity and duplicates. A claimant with a deficient claim gets a notice and 30 days to fix it.
3. Then payment. Under the agreement, money goes out “within 30 days” after the Effective Date or after all claims are processed, “whichever date is later.” Credit monitoring codes follow on the same timeline.
The official site still carries its pre-approval answer: “Please be patient and check this website for updates.” Its content data shows a last edit on July 21, 2026. That is the honest MHCC settlement payout date update: approved, waiting on claim review, no date announced.
Who Gets an MHCC Settlement Payment
Paid: class members who submitted a timely, valid claim form by April 29, 2026, online or by mail. The notice was explicit: submitting a claim is “the only way that you can receive Settlement Benefits.”
Not paid: people who received a notice but did nothing. The notice states: “If you do nothing, you will not receive a cash payment.” There is no automatic payment in this settlement. The 51 people who opted out by March 16, 2026 are not paid either.
Documented-loss claims that fail review are not simply rejected. If the claimant does not cure the defect, the claim is treated as a claim for the flat cash payment instead.
Moved since you filed? The notice puts the burden on you: update your mailing and email address with the administrator, or the payment may go to the old one.
MHCC Settlement Amount Per Person: Estimate, Not Paid
The total MHCC settlement amount is $14,000,000, and it is non-reversionary — no money goes back to McLaren. Before class members are paid, the court approved $4,666,666.67 in attorneys' fees, $40,362.14 in costs and $1,500 service awards for each of the 11 named plaintiffs. Administration and credit monitoring costs also come out first.
Documented losses (up to $5,000, receipts required) are paid next, but they cannot take more than 50% of the net fund. Angeion's report dated April 12, 2026 counted about 294 such claims totaling about $890,279.70 at face value, not yet audited.
The flat cash payment is what is left, divided equally among valid cash claims. In that April 12, 2026 report, with about 103,501 cash claims counted, Angeion estimated the MHCC settlement amount per person at approximately $61.21. Class counsel's declaration, citing the same report, gives $60.76. Both were made two weeks before the claim deadline, so late claims and the audit for duplicates can move the final number either way. We checked again on October 12, 2026 and found no later update. Three Things to Watch For
A known payment, a known per-person estimate and a long wait are exactly what imposters use:
“Your $61 MHCC payment is ready — confirm your bank details”
The real administrator writes from addresses at mhccsettlement.com, such as Info@mhccsettlement.com. Your Claim ID and Confirmation Code came in your confirmation email, and the administrator says: “We will never call you for this information.” Anyone asking for a full Social Security number or a card number to release payment is not Angeion.
“Late claim” or “still time to file” sites
Claims closed April 29, 2026. A site offering to file an MHCC claim now is collecting your data, not adding you to the payout.
Fees to “speed up” or “release” a check
Payments come only from the settlement fund, by the method you chose or by mailed check. There is no fee to receive money, and no one can move you ahead of the court's timeline. Verify by calling the number in your notice, 1-844-685-4251.
MHCC Settlement Payment — Questions People Actually Ask
When will the MHCC settlement payment be sent?
No date has been announced as of October 12, 2026. Under the settlement agreement, payments go out within 30 days after the Effective Date or after all claims are processed, whichever is later. The court granted final approval on April 21, 2026; the administrator has not said when claim review will be complete.
What is the MHCC settlement amount per person?
In its report dated April 12, 2026, Angeion estimated approximately $61.21 per valid cash claim, based on about 103,501 cash claims counted at that point. Class counsel's filing gives $60.76. Neither is a final figure: claims kept coming in until April 29, 2026 and all claims are still subject to audit. We checked again on October 12, 2026 and found no later update.
How long for class action settlement check?
For this settlement, the agreement sets the rule: within 30 days after the later of the Effective Date or completion of claim processing. For a paper check, you have 90 days following distribution to cash or deposit it.
How will I receive my MHCC settlement payment?
By the digital payment option you chose on your claim form. If you did not choose one, the agreement says you get a physical check by U.S. Mail. If you also asked for credit monitoring, the activation code is sent with the payment and can be activated for up to 12 months.
I got a notice but never filed a claim. Will I still get money?
No. This settlement has no automatic payments. The notice stated that if you do nothing, you will not receive a cash payment. The claim deadline was April 29, 2026.
How do I check the status of my claim?
Use the official site, MHCCSettlement.com, call 1-844-685-4251, or email Info@MHCCSettlement.com. Have your Claim ID ready. Mail goes to MHCC Class Action Settlement, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Update your address there if you have moved.
What if my check expires or never arrives?
Checks must be cashed within 90 days of distribution. If a payment comes back undeliverable, the administrator looks for a new address and resends it within 30 days of the return — but makes only one attempt, so keep your address current. The agreement does not describe reissuing expired checks; ask the administrator.
Will there be a second MHCC payment?
Possibly. If money remains more than 120 days after all payments go out, it is split equally among cash claimants who cashed their first payment, as long as the average payment would be at least $3.00. After that, any remainder is proposed to go in equal shares to the Michigan State Bar Foundation and the Michigan Healthcare Cybersecurity Council.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
