Three loanDepot Settlements, Three Payment Tracks
People searching “loanDepot settlement payment” are usually mixing up three different deals:
1. Data breach settlement — $25 million, about 16,924,007 class members. Approved August 25, 2025. No payment date announced.
2. Investor (securities) settlement — $3.5 million for people who bought loanDepot stock. Paid June 19, 2026, by mailed check.
3. Bank-debit (EFTA) settlement — $1,025,000 for people whose bank accounts were debited on a recurring basis without a copy of the authorization. Approved April 21, 2025. The settlement site says distribution “will begin in accordance with the terms of the Settlement Agreement” but gives no date.
If you got a breach notice letter from loanDepot, you are in track 1.

Status: Breach Approved, Not Yet Paid; Investor Paid
What has to happen first, per the settlement agreement:
1. The Effective Date. That is the first business day after appeal deadlines pass with no appeal — or, if there is an appeal, after the appellate court's mandate affirms. We could not confirm whether an appeal was filed.
2. Monitoring enrollment. Within 15 days of the Effective Date, the administrator sends enrollment instructions for the free monitoring; claimants then have 90 days to enroll.
3. Payment. Cash goes out “within 30 Days” after the latest of the Effective Date, the end of claim processing, or that enrollment deadline.
So under the agreement's own sequence, cash comes after the monitoring enrollment window closes — not before.
Investor — paid. The claims administrator distributed the Net Settlement Fund on June 19, 2026.
Who Gets a Payment Automatically, and Who Does Not
Nobody gets breach cash automatically. Only people who filed a claim by May 27, 2025 are paid. That deadline has passed; there is no late-claim route on the official site. California residents on the class list who filed a claim receive the California payment without extra paperwork.
Investor settlement: only claimants whose claims were accepted. The court-approved plan skips anyone whose share would be under $10. Of 7,282 claims received, 4,194 were accepted.
To check status: breach — call 1-844-996-4090 or email info@LoanDepotBreachSettlement.com, with the claim ID from your postcard or confirmation email. Mail goes to In re loanDepot Data Breach Litigation, c/o Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Investor — info@LoanDepotSettlement.com or (855) 999-9077. If you moved or changed email since filing, tell the administrator now: it is your job to keep that current.
loanDepot Settlement Amount: Paid vs. Estimated
Estimates from the court-approved notice — not promises:
• Cash payment: $34.37 to $5.30, if 2% to 10% of the class claimed.
• California add-on: $74.52 to $14.90, capped at $150.
• Documented out-of-pocket losses: up to $5,000 each, reduced pro rata if all such claims together exceed $2,000,000.
The order matters for your loanDepot settlement amount. The flat cash payment is each claimant's pro rata share of the Net Settlement Fund that remains after the other benefits are paid, including monitoring, out-of-pocket costs and California payments. Before any of that, the court approved $7,500,000 in attorneys' fees plus costs and up to $2,585,806.12 for administration.
Investor: amounts depended on shares and trade dates; the per-person figure was not published.

Three Things to Watch For
A class this large, waiting on a payment that has no date is easy to exploit:
“Your prepaid card is ready — confirm your SSN”
Breach payments from mailed claim forms do go by prepaid card to your email, so this lure looks plausible. A real card email never asks for your Social Security number, bank login or a fee. Before clicking, call 1-844-996-4090 and ask whether payments have gone out.
“Late claim” or “reopen your claim” pages
The breach claim deadline was May 27, 2025. Any site offering to file a new claim, for a fee or not, is not the administrator. The only official site is LoanDepotBreachSettlement.com.
“Update your Venmo or Zelle to get paid” texts
Payment method was chosen on the claim form. If you need to change contact details, email info@LoanDepotBreachSettlement.com yourself — do not reply to a text link or send a test payment to anyone.
loanDepot Settlement Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
When is the loanDepot data incident settlement payment coming?
As of October 12, 2026, no date has been announced. The settlement was approved August 25, 2025. Under the agreement, cash goes out within 30 days after the latest of the Effective Date, the end of claim processing, or the 90-day monitoring enrollment deadline. The administrator will post the date at LoanDepotBreachSettlement.com.
What is the loanDepot settlement amount per person?
No actual amount has been published. The court-approved notice estimated $34.37 to $5.30 for the cash payment, depending on how many people claimed, plus $74.52 to $14.90 for California residents. Documented losses could be reimbursed up to $5,000.
How will the loanDepot settlement payout arrive?
However you chose on the claim form. Mailed tear-off forms default to a prepaid card sent to the email you gave. Online claimants could pick Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, a prepaid card or a paper check.
Is a “loanDepot data incident settlement Prepaid Mastercard is ready” email real?
It may be, once payments start — prepaid cards are the default method. But as of October 12, 2026 the official site has announced no breach payments. The official site's payment widget loads from digitaldisbursements.com, but the administrator has not published which domain card emails come from. Verify by calling 1-844-996-4090 before entering anything.
How do I check the status of my loanDepot claim?
Have your claim ID ready, from the postcard notice or your confirmation email. Call 1-844-996-4090 or email info@LoanDepotBreachSettlement.com. For the investor settlement, use info@LoanDepotSettlement.com or (855) 999-9077.
I got a loanDepot settlement check in June 2026. What is it?
Most likely the investor settlement, LaFrano v. loanDepot. Its administrator distributed payments on June 19, 2026, by mailed check, to people who bought loanDepot stock and filed accepted claims. It is not the data breach payment.
What happens if I don't cash my check? Will there be a second payment?
Breach: checks must be cashed within 90 days. Money left 180 days after distribution is paid out again to people who cashed, if the average would be at least $3.00; otherwise it goes to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Nothing returns to loanDepot. Investor: uncashed checks were forfeited after 90 days — for checks distributed June 19, 2026, around September 17, 2026. A second distribution goes only to those who cashed; no date for it has been posted.
Is this the Home Depot settlement payout?
No. loanDepot is a mortgage lender; Home Depot is an unrelated retailer, and nothing on this page applies to it. For Home Depot payouts, use the settlement site named in your Home Depot notice.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
