As of October 12, 2026, no Google Assistant settlement payout date has been announced. The last confirmed step: at the October 1, 2026 hearing, Judge Beth Labson Freeman said she will grant final approval of the $68 million settlement. What Has to Happen Before the Google Assistant Settlement Payment
The settlement agreement sets the order, and none of it is optional.
1. Final Judgment. The judge has to enter a written final judgment. As of October 12, 2026 we could not confirm that a signed order has been filed — the October 1 approval is from news reporting of the hearing.
2. The judgment becomes “Final.” Under the agreement, that happens when the time to appeal expires, or — if someone appeals the approval — when every appeal is finished. An appeal only about attorneys' fees does not hold up the Effective Date.
3. Google funds the settlement. Within 15 calendar days after the Effective Date, Google deposits the rest of the $68 million into escrow.
4. Payment. The agreement says payment to people with valid claims “shall be transmitted ... within 60 calendar days after the Effective Date, or as soon as practicable thereafter.” That is the only payment deadline in the documents. No one can give you a calendar date until the Effective Date is known.

Status: Approval Signaled October 1, 2026 — Not Paying Yet
Nobody has been paid. No payment date, per-point value or final fee award has been published that we could verify as of October 12, 2026. Under the agreement, payment is due within 60 calendar days after the Effective Date, or as soon as practicable thereafter, and the Effective Date has not happened yet. Earlier coverage is in our news piece on the claim deadline.
Who Gets a Google Assistant Settlement Payout
Only people who filed a valid claim by August 27, 2026. No one is paid automatically. The claim was “the only way to receive money from the fund,” even for people who got an email notice with a Unique ID and PIN.
A.B. Data reviews every claim. Under the agreement, its decisions on whether a claim is valid “shall be final” and cannot be appealed to the court. If your claim is denied, you get nothing but you are still bound by the settlement.
If you missed the deadline, there is no late-claim window in the documents.
Google Assistant Settlement Amount: Points, Not a Fixed Sum
The fund is $68 million. Taxes, administration costs, the court-approved attorneys' fees and expenses, and service awards come out first. Lawyers could ask for up to one-third, about $22.7 million. What remains is split by points:
• Device buyers: 4 points per eligible Google-made device, capped at 3 devices (12 points).
• Privacy class: 1 point.
• Both: up to 13 points.
Each point is worth the net fund divided by all valid points. Reported estimates are roughly $18 to $56 per device and $2 to $10 for privacy-only claimants, depending on how many people claimed. Those figures are not promises. The administrator may also set a flat minimum payment for very small claims. None of the money goes back to Google.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 25,309 other fraud casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2026, 27.6% of them filed as class actions:
- 17.1% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 22.9% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 17.1% and 39.9%.
- 10.2% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 112 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 29.9 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7 months.
- Only 761 of them (3%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $663,000.

Three Things to Watch For
People waiting for a settlement payment are a target for scammers:
“Your Google payment is ready” from the wrong sender
The real notice came from info@googleassistantprivacylitigation.com. The agreement says the payment email or text will offer PayPal, Amazon or a virtual debit card. An email from any other domain, or one asking for a fee or your bank login, is not the administrator.
Calls “from Google” about your settlement
A.B. Data runs the payout, not Google. No one needs your Google password, a 2-step verification code or a gift card to release your payment. Hang up and call 1-877-411-4704 yourself.
“Late claim” and “faster payout” offers
The claim deadline was August 27, 2026, and no one can speed up the Effective Date. A site that charges you to file now or to “expedite” your payment is selling nothing.
Google Assistant Settlement Payout — Questions People Actually Ask
What is the Google Assistant settlement payout date?
As of October 12, 2026, none has been announced. The judge said at the October 1, 2026 hearing that she will approve the settlement. Under the agreement, payment is due within 60 calendar days after the Effective Date “or as soon as practicable thereafter.” The Effective Date comes only after a final judgment and the end of any appeals.
How much is the Google Assistant settlement payment per person?
Nobody knows yet, and nobody has been paid. Device buyers get 4 points per device (up to 3), and privacy-class members get 1 point. Reported estimates are about $18 to $56 per device and $2 to $10 for privacy-only claims. The real value depends on the final fee award and the number of valid claims.
How will the Google Assistant settlement payout be sent?
According to the claim form, the administrator will email or text you when your payment is available. The message will offer digital options such as PayPal, Amazon or a virtual debit card. The plan of allocation also covers paper checks. If your email or phone number changed, tell the administrator, or you may not get paid.
How can I track my settlement check?
Use the official site, googleassistantprivacylitigation.com, with the Unique ID and PIN from your notice. You can also call A.B. Data at 1-877-411-4704 or email info@googleassistantprivacylitigation.com. The notice asks people not to call the court about the settlement.
How can I collect my Google settlement money?
For this settlement, only by having filed a valid claim by August 27, 2026. There is nothing further to submit now. Watch for the payment email or text, and keep your contact details current with the administrator. Other Google settlements, such as the Android settlement, have their own rules.
What if I miss or lose my payment?
Under the plan of allocation, a check not cashed within 90 days after the administrator contacts you counts as waived. The administrator will reissue a check if you reasonably ask. Returned checks get a second mailing to a new address. If a digital payment fails, the administrator will try to contact you to fix it.
Will there be a second Google Assistant settlement payment?
Possibly. If money is left six months after the first payout, it can be redistributed to people who cashed their payment, if that is economically feasible. This can repeat. Whatever is left after a further 180 days goes to one or more 501(c)(3) nonprofits approved by the court.
Is Reddit right about when Google will pay?
Forum posts can tell you whether people have received the payment email, but they are not a source for dates. Only the administrator or a court order can set the payment schedule. Check the official site, not a screenshot.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
