What the Lawsuit Said
The plaintiff says he bought Wondercide Flea & Tick Control on Amazon for his dog. The complaint alleges the spray was marketed as “100% Naturally Derived,” “safe” and free of synthetic pesticides, while it contained two synthetic substances: sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a surfactant, and ethyl lactate, a solvent. It also alleged that Wondercide named cedar oil as the active ingredient while describing SLS as “coconut oil” in its glossary, and that the SLS level was twice what the scientific literature treats as safe.
The theory was economic: buyers paid for a “natural” product they would not have bought, or would have paid less for. These were allegations only. No court ruled on them, and the company did not admit them.
Case Details
Pasik v. Boon Technologies, LLC, et al., No. 1:19-cv-02357-FB-JO, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, filed April 23, 2019. The defendants were Boon Technologies, LLC, Wondercide, LLC and the company's founder, all at an Austin, Texas address. The claims were brought under New York General Business Law Sections 349–350, and the proposed class covered only consumers who bought the product in New York. An amended complaint followed in May 2019. You can read the original complaint (copy hosted by TINA.org).
Status: Closed Since April 2020
As of October 2026 we found no newer Wondercide lawsuit with a court and case number. One 2026 article (Lawfold, May 12, 2026) describes an “ongoing” case with pet-harm subclasses, but it names no court, no docket and no plaintiff, and it concedes that no settlement amount has been confirmed. If a real case is filed, it will have a case number you can look up on PACER.
Am I Part of a Wondercide Settlement?
No. Nobody is. The 2019 case never reached class certification, and the private settlement covered only the parties who signed it. Buying Wondercide products, in New York or anywhere else, does not entitle you to any payment from that case.
If your pet was harmed after using a Wondercide product, that would be an individual claim, not part of any existing class action. Keep the product, the receipt and your vet records. For a smaller loss, small claims court is one option. For current settlements that do accept claims, see our list of open class action settlements.
What It Paid
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 24,037 other fraud casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2025, 27.4% of them filed as class actions:
- 17.3% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 22.5% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 17.3% and 39.8%.
- 10.4% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 111 reached a trial (0.9%), after a median of 30 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7 months.
- Only 735 of them (3.1%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $663,000.

Three Things to Watch For
A brand name with search interest but no actual settlement is an easy target for misleading pages:
“Check if you qualify for the Wondercide settlement”
There is no Wondercide settlement to qualify for. A form asking for your name, phone number and purchase details is collecting leads to sell, or is the first step toward a fee request.
Payout tables without a case number
Charts listing dollar amounts for a purchase or a pet death look official, but a real settlement always has a court, a case number and an administrator. If a page cannot name all three, its figures are guesses.
“Your pet's death qualifies you” ads
Grief is used to sign people up. We found no court ruling that a Wondercide product harmed a pet, and no pet-injury class action. If you are considering a claim, ask any lawyer which case they would file in, and get the fee terms in writing.
Wondercide Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there a Wondercide lawsuit right now?
As of October 2026, we found no pending one. The only Wondercide lawsuit we could document is Pasik v. Boon Technologies, No. 1:19-cv-02357 in the Eastern District of New York. It was dismissed with prejudice on April 2, 2020.
Was there a Wondercide settlement?
Yes, but a private one. The parties settled and the case was dismissed in April 2020, and the terms were never disclosed. It was not a class settlement, so other buyers were not covered and never received notice or money.
Can I file a claim and get money?
No. There is no fund, no administrator, no claim form and no deadline. Any site offering to file a Wondercide claim for you is not connected to a court-approved settlement.
What was the lawsuit about?
The lawsuit alleged that Wondercide Flea & Tick Control was falsely sold as “100% Naturally Derived” and “safe,” while it contained synthetic sodium lauryl sulfate and ethyl lactate. It was a false-advertising case about the price buyers paid. It was not a case about injured pets.
Did Wondercide admit wrongdoing?
No admission is on the public record. The case ended before any ruling on the merits, and the settlement terms were never disclosed.
Why do some sites say the lawsuit is ongoing in 2026?
A May 12, 2026 article on Lawfold describes an ongoing Wondercide lawsuit with subclasses and payout tiers. It gives no court, case number or plaintiff, and it says no settlement amount has been confirmed. Treat them as speculation until a docket number appears.
My pet got sick after using Wondercide. What can I do?
Talk to your veterinarian first and keep the product, the packaging and your receipts. Any claim would be an individual one. No existing class action covers it. Report the incident to the manufacturer and, for pesticide products, to the National Pesticide Information Center.
Could a new Wondercide lawsuit be filed?
The 2019 case cannot be refiled, because it was dismissed with prejudice. A different plaintiff could still bring a new suit over different purchases or claims. If that happens, it will have a public case number. Until then, there is nothing to join.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
