VShred Lawsuit: The $4 Million Settlement and the Fake-Discount Case
Questions about this case?
AI Legal Assistant · free · answers in seconds · general information, not legal advice
There are two different VShred cases. The first, a Florida privacy class action, ended in a $4 million settlement paying up to $10 per claimant; its claim deadline was August 11, 2025, so you can no longer file. The second, filed July 18, 2025 in federal court in Los Angeles, alleges the “sale” prices on vshred.com were fake. As of October 2026 we found no settlement in that one, and no claim form exists for it.

What the Two Lawsuits Say
The privacy case. The Florida lawsuit accuses V Shred of disclosing website users’ personally identifiable information to third parties without consent. The claims were brought under the federal Video Privacy Protection Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the Florida Security of Communications Act. V Shred denies that it violated any law and settled to avoid the cost of continuing.
The fake-discount case. The California lawsuit alleges that V Shred advertises its fitness programs, diet plans and supplements at “discounted” prices, but never actually sells them at the higher regular prices it shows — so, the lawsuit claims, the discount is permanent and therefore not real. The plaintiff says he bought a V Shred product in April 2024 believing he was getting a deal. These are allegations; no court has ruled on them.
Case Details
Privacy settlement: Bolanos, et al. v. VShred, LLC, Case No. CACE-25-001211, in the Circuit Court for the 17th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida, before Judge Michael A. Robinson. This is a state court, not a federal one. The settlement administrator was Kroll Settlement Administration, (833) 420-3963.
Fake-discount case: Goldman v. V Shred LLC, Case No. 2:25-cv-06582, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, filed July 18, 2025. It seeks a class of California buyers and pleads California’s False Advertising Law, Consumers Legal Remedies Act and Unfair Competition Law, plus breach of contract and warranty, unjust enrichment and misrepresentation.
Status: One Settlement Closed, One Case Filed
The Goldman fake-discount case was filed July 18, 2025. As of October 2026 we found no settlement, no fund and no claim form for it, and we could not confirm its current procedural stage from the court docket.
Who Was Covered
Privacy settlement: people who watched a video or bought products or services from V Shred or its affiliate channels — including Sculptnation and Amazon — from January 1, 2022 through May 13, 2025, or who took V Shred’s online quiz on vshred.com in that period. Consumers who had already started an arbitration demand against V Shred as of January 21, 2025 were excluded. To be paid, a class member had to file a claim by August 11, 2025 and show an active Google, X, TikTok, Meta or Snap account.
Fake-discount case: the proposed class is California residents who bought one or more V Shred products advertised at a discount on the company’s websites. Nobody is a class member until a court certifies a class, and there is nothing to sign up for.
How Much the VShred Settlement Paid
If you did not file by August 11, 2025, there is no payment for you, and unless you opted out you released the privacy claims covered by the settlement. For the fake-discount case there is no settlement, no fund and no claim form. Any future amount is unknown.
How cases like this one end
Our copy of the federal courts’ own case database covers 123,245 other contract casesclosed in U.S. federal district courts between 2015 and 2025, 5.8% of them filed as class actions:
- 30.9% ended in a settlement recorded by the court. Another 20.2% were dismissed voluntarily, which often follows a private settlement — so the real settlement share sits between 30.9% and 51.1%.
- 7.6% were decided on a motion before any trial.
- 1 in 71 reached a trial (1.4%), after a median of 29.3 months.
- Median time from filing to the end of the case: 7.6 months.
- Only 7,369 of them (6%) record a money award at all; the median of those is $402,000.

Three Things to Watch For
A closed settlement with a dead official website and a second, unsettled case is an easy setup for imposters:
“Late claim” or “reopened” VShred settlement pages
The claim deadline was August 11, 2025, and the official domain is offline. A site that now asks for your card or bank details to “claim your VShred money” is not the court-approved administrator.
Payment-release fees and “reissued check” calls
Real payments went out by check, PayPal or Venmo with no fee. Kroll does not ask you to pay to release a settlement payment or to buy a gift card to reissue an expired check.
“Join the VShred fake-discount settlement”
There is no settlement in the Goldman case and no claim form. Ads collecting your order history and personal data to “register” you are lead generation, not a court filing.
VShred Lawsuit — Questions People Actually Ask
Is there a VShred settlement I can still claim?
No. The $4 million VShred settlement had a claim deadline of August 11, 2025. The separate fake-discount lawsuit has no settlement and no claim form as of October 2026.
What was the VShred lawsuit about?
There are two. The settled Florida case accused V Shred of sharing website users’ personal information, including video-viewing data, with third parties without consent. The California case alleges V Shred’s advertised discounts were fake because products were never sold at the higher regular price. V Shred denied wrongdoing in the privacy case.
How much did the VShred settlement pay?
Up to $10 per valid claim from a $4,000,000 fund, reduced pro rata depending on how many people filed. Fees and administration costs came out of the fund first.
When were VShred settlement payments sent?
The official FAQ said payments would go out 30 days after final approval and any appeals. Claim Depot reports the administrator began paying approved claimants in December 2025. Checks expire 180 days after they are issued.
I filed a claim but never got paid. What can I do?
Contact the administrator directly: V Shred Privacy Settlement, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391, or (833) 420-3963. Have your Class Member ID or claim confirmation ready.
Is the VShred settlement email or letter real?
The genuine notice named Kroll as administrator and the case Bolanos v. VShred, LLC, Case No. CACE-25-001211. Because the claim deadline passed August 11, 2025, any message now urging you to file a new claim or pay a fee should be treated as suspicious.
Can I join the fake-discount lawsuit?
There is nothing to join. The proposed class in Goldman v. V Shred LLC is California buyers of discounted V Shred products. If a class is certified or a settlement is reached, class members are notified with official instructions.
Did the FTC sue VShred?
We found no FTC or other government lawsuit against V Shred as of October 2026. Both cases described here are private class actions. To see what else is currently paying, check our list of open class action settlements.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
