As of October 6, 2026 we found no NYU Langone Health lawsuit over Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or other tracking on its website or in NYU Langone Health MyChart. There is no settlement, no fund, no claim form and no deadline. We also found no NYU Langone Health data breach class action. What People Are Asking About
Since 2022, dozens of hospital systems have been sued for allegedly letting tracking code from Meta and Google run on their websites and patient portals. The lawsuits allege that clicks — booking an appointment, searching a condition, logging in — were sent to advertisers along with an IP address or Facebook ID.
NYU Langone patients reasonably ask whether their hospital is one of them. We found no such case against NYU Langone. Its portal is called NYU Langone Health MyChart, also used inside the NYU Langone Health app.
NYU Langone’s own Websites Privacy Policy, last updated February 27, 2026, says it “may use cookies, pixels, beacons” on certain pages of nyulangone.org, med.nyu.edu and medli.nyu.edu, including for analytics and marketing. That policy is a disclosure, not an admission of wrongdoing, and it states it does not cover protected health information under HIPAA. No court has looked at NYU Langone’s tracking.
Case Details
Tracking (website or MyChart): no case found. We searched news, class-action trackers and the ClassAction.org archive for NYU Langone Hospitals. A federal docket search on CourtListener was rate-limited when we ran it, so we could not use it as a check.
Data breach: no class action found. The one patient-data incident we could document is a vendor mailing error: NYU Langone notified 1,123 patients in January 2022 that letters about a surgeon’s relocation went to the wrong addresses. The letters said “Dear Patient” and contained no health information.
Other matters, not privacy class actions: a 2019 overtime-wage class action by security guards in the Supreme Court of New York (an employment case), and the September 18, 2026 agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice over its demand for records of patients under 18 who received gender-affirming care. NYU Langone says the agreement means it no longer faces that demand, and it denied wrongdoing. Neither pays patients anything.
Status: Reference Only, No NYU Langone Case
Watch for one mix-up: in March 2025 New York University — the university — faced 10 class actions after more than 3 million applicants’ records were posted on the university website. That was admissions data, not NYU Langone patient records.
If a case is filed or settles, this page will say so with the court and docket number. Pages that claim NYU Langone is already part of a “MyChart settlement” give no case name, court or administrator. We could not verify any of them.
Could You Be Affected? What to Check
With no case, nobody is a class member yet. If a tracking case were filed, the classes in similar suits have usually covered people who used the hospital’s public website or MyChart portal during a set period. So note:
• whether you used nyulangone.org, NYU Langone Health MyChart or the app
• what you did there — searched a condition, booked a visit, read results, messaged a doctor
• roughly when you last did it
The form on this page asks exactly those three questions. It does not enroll you in anything.
For a breach, the test is your mail. A real notice comes from NYU Langone or its vendor and names the incident. NYU Langone’s breach policy says incidents affecting 500 or more people go to the federal Office for Civil Rights within 60 days of discovery.
What Similar Hospital Cases Paid
For context only, two hospital tracking cases that did settle: Wellstar Health System in Georgia agreed to $4.25 million for about 870,000 people. Claims are due November 10, 2026, and payments are pro rata. Memorial Health Services in California agreed to $750,000 for about 182,303 MyChart users. Its claim deadline was August 21, 2026, and it has passed. Divide a fund by hundreds of thousands of people and the per-person figure is small. See the MyChart claim forms page for cases that are open now, or the MyChart settlement calculator.

Three Things to Watch For
When people search for a lawsuit that does not exist, someone fills the gap:
“NYU Langone MyChart settlement” claim pages
Some sites say MyChart users at dozens of hospitals “could qualify” and list deadlines, but give no case name or court. No NYU Langone settlement exists, so there is nothing to claim. Do not enter your Social Security number.
Texts asking for your MyChart code
NYU Langone Health MyChart sends two-factor verification codes. A message about a “privacy settlement” that asks for that code, your password or your date of birth is trying to get into your account.
“Patient payment” from the DOJ agreement
The September 18, 2026 agreement is between NYU Langone and the Justice Department. It sets up no patient fund. Anyone offering to “process your share” for a fee is not connected to it.
NYU Langone Health Lawsuit — Questions People Ask
Is there an NYU Langone Health MyChart lawsuit?
Not that we could find as of October 6, 2026. We found no lawsuit over Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or other tracking on nyulangone.org or in NYU Langone Health MyChart, and no settlement or claim form.
Was there an NYU Langone Health data breach?
The only patient-data incident we could document is a vendor mailing error. In January 2022, 1,123 patients were told that “Dear Patient” letters went to the wrong addresses. No health information was in them, and we found no lawsuit over it.
What is NYU Langone's patient portal called?
NYU Langone Health MyChart. It is built on Epic's MyChart and is also used inside the NYU Langone Health app. Patients 12 and older can have their own account.
Does NYU Langone use tracking pixels on its website?
Its Websites Privacy Policy, last updated February 27, 2026, says it may use cookies, pixels and beacons on certain pages, including for analytics and marketing. That is a disclosure. No court has ruled on whether NYU Langone’s use broke any law.
Is the NYU data breach lawsuit about NYU Langone?
No. The 2025 lawsuits were against New York University over leaked applicant data — names, hometowns and GPAs of more than 3 million applicants. They are not about NYU Langone patient records.
Does the DOJ settlement pay NYU Langone patients?
No. The September 18, 2026 agreement resolves a Justice Department investigation and its demand for records of patients under 18. It creates no fund and no claim process for patients.
What should I do if I think my data was shared?
Write down what you used (website, MyChart or the app), what you did there and when. Keep any notice letter. Check the MyChart claim forms page in case another hospital you used has an open settlement.
How did other hospitals' MyChart cases end?
Some settled. Wellstar agreed to $4.25 million, with claims due November 10, 2026. Memorial Health Services agreed to $750,000, and its deadline passed on August 21, 2026. Others are still being fought. None of them involves NYU Langone.
Separate from this case: were you injured in the last 2 years?
Class-action payouts are fixed amounts through an administrator. A personal injury claim is a different case — and often worth far more. Free estimate, no obligation.
