Oracle’s $115 Million Privacy Settlement Starts Paying on September 21 — but the Claim Deadline Was October 17, 2024, and Nothing Anyone Does Now Can Reopen It
The appeals ended on June 22. The court-authorised settlement site has now published a distribution window: cheques and transfers go out from September 21 and should be finished by December 7. Only people who filed almost two years ago are in it.

What the official site now says
The court-authorised settlement website for Katz-Lacabe et al v. Oracle America, Inc., Case No. 3:22-cv-04792-RS in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, carries a dated update at the top of its homepage:
“The appeals process was fully resolved on June 22, 2026, triggering the Effective Date of the settlement. Payments will begin to be sent out on September 21, 2026, and should be completed by December 7, 2026.”
That is the whole of the news, and it is worth reading twice, because the second half is the part people keep getting wrong.
The deadline everyone is about to discover they missed
The settlement’s own “Important Dates” panel lists three deadlines, all on the same day, and all of them are almost two years in the past:
- Claim Deadline — October 17, 2024
- Exclusion Deadline — October 17, 2024
- Objection Deadline — October 17, 2024
- Final Approval Hearing — November 14, 2024, 1:30 PM PST
There is no late-claim provision, no reopened window and no second round. If you did not file a claim form by October 17, 2024, the September payment run does not include you, however clearly you fall inside the class definition. This is the ordinary way class settlements work, and it is also the reason a payout announcement generates far more search traffic than the claim period that preceded it — by the time a case is famous enough to notice, it is usually too late to join.
Who the class covers — and why so many people think they qualify
The class is unusually broad, which is precisely why the missed deadline stings. Per the settlement notice, it covers “all natural persons residing in the United States whose personal information, or data derived from [that] information, was acquired, captured, or otherwise collected by Oracle Advertising technologies or made available for use or sale by or through ID Graph, Data Marketplace, or any other Oracle Advertising product or service from August 19, 2018 to the date of final judgment in the Action.”
The underlying allegation is that Oracle improperly captured, compiled and sold individuals’ online and offline data to third parties without their consent. Oracle denies all of the allegations and any wrongdoing, and maintains its practices were lawful and disclosed. A settlement is not a finding of liability.
Because money is moving, be careful with your inbox
A distribution window is exactly the moment impersonation attempts appear, and emails referencing this settlement are already circulating. Two facts make them easy to screen.
First, the only people being paid are those who filed by October 17, 2024 — so any message inviting you to “claim now”, “confirm eligibility” or “start your claim” for this case is not describing something that exists. Second, no legitimate administrator charges a fee to release a payment or asks you to confirm a bank login through a link.
The administrator of record is Angeion Group. Its published contact points for the case are 1-888-255-4036 and Katz-Lacabe et al v. Oracle America, Inc., c/o Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103. If you did file in 2024 and your address or bank details have changed since, that is the channel to use — and it is worth doing before September 21 rather than after.
