People Are Hunting a '$2,500 MyChart Settlement.' Real MyChart Checks Run $15 to $50 — the $2,500 Goes to One Person Per Case

The number is not invented from nothing — it appears in real MyChart settlement documents. It is just not for you. In the Memorial Health Services settlement, $2,500 is the service award paid to the named plaintiff who brought the case; Mount Sinai's settlement paid three lead plaintiffs $2,500 each. Service awards compensate the person who lent their name to the lawsuit and sat for discovery — one payment per named plaintiff, not a class-member benefit.

The other source is sloppier: a cluster of near-identical "MyChart Lawsuit 2026" content-mill articles repeats a "$50 to $2,500 depending on documented losses" range for MyChart cases. That tier structure is real — in unrelated settlements like Cash App's security case. No court-approved MyChart hospital-portal settlement we reviewed contains a documented-loss tier at all: these are privacy-consent cases, not identity-theft cases.

If this pattern feels familiar, it is: in 2023, a $750 statutory-damages ceiling circulated as "the Facebook settlement payout." The real average was about $30.

Across the pixel-tracking settlements with published payment terms, the class-member checks are flat and modest: Henry Ford Health $15, Southern Illinois Healthcare $17.50, Banner Health $20, Call-On-Doc up to $20, Bayhealth $25, SSM Health $31.50, BJC HealthCare $35, St. Joseph Hospital (Nashua) $50 — and Advocate Aurora paid pro rata capped at $50.

Why so small? These funds compensate a privacy intrusion — a tracking pixel transmitting browsing data — across enormous classes, without the documented financial losses that push data-breach payouts higher. The economics are honest and unglamorous: a few million dollars, minus fees, spread across hundreds of thousands of patients.

The freshest open case shows the arithmetic plainly. Duke University Health System agreed to pay $3,743,600 to resolve Williams v. Duke University Health System, Inc. (M.D.N.C., No. 1:22-cv-00727) — allegations that Meta Pixel code on Duke MyChart and the MyDuke Health app transmitted patient information. Court documents put the class at approximately 872,634 people: everyone who logged into those portals between February 18, 2019 and June 17, 2022.

Divide the entire gross fund by the class and you get $4.29 per person — before attorney fees and administration costs come off the top. Actual checks will be larger for one reason only: most people never file. The payment is pro rata among those who submit a claim by August 16, 2026, with the final approval hearing set for August 27, 2026. No documentation is required — but anyone promising Duke claimants $2,500 is doing fiction, not math.

Deadline status rechecked on September 4, 2026. When this was published on August 4, six hospital-portal pixel settlements had open claim windows, each with its own court-appointed administrator. Four have since closed: St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua NH — $50 flat, no proof needed, closed August 14 (stjosephpixelsettlement.com); Duke Health — pro rata, closed August 16 (DUHSSettlement.com); Memorial Health Services — closed August 21; Call-On-Doc — up to $20, closed August 29. Two were still open on September 4: Banner Health — $20 plus privacy monitoring, file by September 5; Bayhealth (pixel case) — $25 plus monitoring, file by October 5.

Three cautions. There is no generic "MyChart claim form" — MyChart's maker Epic is not the defendant; each hospital system settled its own case, and you file only with that hospital's administrator. Filing in a case where you were never a patient is a false claim signed under penalty of perjury. And any site or text message asking a fee, bank login, or Social Security number to "process your MyChart payment" is a scam — hospitals have already warned about exactly this.
