Maple Leaf Foods Bacon Recall: 12,036 Pounds Pulled — and the Sell-By Dates Are This Week

Maple Leaf Foods is recalling 12,036 pounds of not-ready-to-eat smoked bacon. The alert was issued on July 24, 2026 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Two products are affected, both in 12-ounce vacuum packages and both labelled as products of Canada: "Royale Natural Applewood Smoked All Natural Uncured Bacon" and "Top Valu Uncured Hardwood Smoked Bacon". They carry the Canadian establishment number EST. 1, were produced on various dates in June 2026, and have sell-by dates from September 1 to September 7, 2026.

Distribution was limited to grocery outlet distributors and retailers in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

This is a procedural recall, not a contamination finding. The bacon entered the United States without the benefit of import reinspection, which routine FSIS inspection activity later identified. No illness has been reported and no pathogen has been announced.
