Jeremiah Ballew, et al. v. Huuuge, Inc., Case No. 2:23-cv-04324-GW-AGR, United States District Court for the Central District of California, Judge George H. Wu. The proposed settlement for players who bought chips or other items in Huuuge Casino and Billionaire Casino on or before January 23, 2025 offered no cash — only at least 375 Virtual Diamonds per player, valued by the parties at $7.5 million in total. Judge Wu denied final approval on January 16, 2026 after the parties could not agree to amend it, and denied Huuuge’s motion to enforce the deal on February 25, 2026. The case is back in litigation: on September 3, 2026 the court denied Huuuge’s motion to compel arbitration, and Huuuge appealed to the Ninth Circuit the same day. There is no claim form and no deadline. As of September 30, 2026, the official site, HuuugeSettlement.com, still reports only the December 12, 2025 tentative ruling.

The Huuuge Casino Settlement Was Rejected on January 16, 2026 — No Cash, No 375 Virtual Diamonds, No Claim Form. Huuuge Lost Its Bid to Force Arbitration on September 3, 2026 and Has Appealed to the Ninth Circuit. — key figures at a glance

What happened: the judge rejected the deal, and nothing is being paid from it

If you are looking up the Huuuge Casino settlement or the Billionaire Casino settlement because of a 2025 email, or because a list of open settlements still shows it: that settlement will not pay. On January 16, 2026, Judge George H. Wu of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California denied final approval in Ballew v. Huuuge, Inc. The docket entry reads: “The parties have advised that they were unable to reach an agreement to amend the Settlement. See Joint Report, Docket No. 140. Accordingly, for all of the reasons discussed in the Tentative and at the hearing, the Court hereby adopts its tentative ruling as final and the Motions are therefore DENIED.” The class lawyers’ request for fees was denied with it.

Huuuge then asked the court to enforce the settlement anyway. On February 5, 2026 the judge ordered both sides to brief the enforceability of the agreement, “given that the Court has issued a final order denying final approval that does not leave open the possibility of further amendment.” Huuuge filed its motion to enforce on February 11; on February 25, 2026 the judge denied it. The case has been back in ordinary litigation since.

The deal never offered cash. Had it been approved, every class member who did not opt out would have automatically received at least 375 Virtual Diamonds, an in-game currency, in Huuuge Casino or Billionaire Casino. With approval denied, there are no diamonds owed under it, there is no claim form, and there is no deadline to meet. The official site, HuuugeSettlement.com, has not caught up: as of September 30, 2026 its home page still reports only the December 12, 2025 tentative ruling and says, “At this time, we do not know when a final ruling will occur.” The final ruling came five weeks later.

What the rejected deal offered, and why the judge said no

The court’s tentative ruling of December 12, 2025, which became final on January 16, is blunt about the relief: “The Settlement does not provide any cash payment to the Settlement Class.” Each class member was to get 375 Virtual Diamonds that “may be used within the Huuuge Games to acquire and send virtual gifts to other players and to unlock certain games,” with no restrictions and no expiration, and Huuuge had to hand out at least 412,500,000 diamonds in total. The parties valued the package at $7.5 million, based on Huuuge selling diamonds “in quantities of 500 for $7.99.” At that list price, 375 diamonds are worth about $6 in the game’s own store, by our arithmetic. The site’s FAQ adds that players with several accounts “may be limited to receiving the 375 Virtual Diamonds total for all of your accounts.”

Huuuge also promised changes: continuous free play at the lowest level of every game, a notice when free chips become available, individual items sold at base prices, and removal of “any countdown timer for offered sales.” Class counsel, Andrew Ryan of The Ryan Law Group, could ask for up to $1,440,000 in fees and costs and the two named plaintiffs up to $5,000 each, all paid by Huuuge on top of the diamonds.

Players were not impressed. The administrator reported two opt-outs and no objections, but one class member wrote in that “[v]irtual diamonds are USELESS” and “the WORST possible payout they could offer aside from nothing.” A formal objection came from a class member whose lawyers lead the separate cases against the app platforms, and the Washington Attorney General filed a brief arguing that Washington players would receive “only nominal and illusory relief.”

Judge Wu gave three reasons for refusing approval. First, the release also covered claims against the app platforms, which were never sued in this case; the court found that extension to “nonparties accused of conduct of a different nature in unrelated litigation is impermissibly overbroad.” Second, the notice fell short: the class definition was “confusing and could easily be missed” — parts of the notices said “on or before” where “on or after” was meant — and players were not told that claims against the platforms would be given up. Third, the countdown-timer fix covered the in-game store, while Washington’s screenshots showed timers in pop-up offers too; to the extent the fix missed those, its value “would appear substantially attenuated.” The judge did not accept Washington’s separate argument that the deal itself was illegal: “the Court does not find that the Settlement is clearly illegal under Washington law.”

Where the case stands as of September 30, 2026

On March 9, 2026 the players filed a first amended complaint that adds two more Huuuge companies, Huuuge Global Ltd. and Billionaire Games Ltd., as defendants. The companies answered on April 27 and demanded a jury. At a June 11 scheduling conference the court set a class-certification schedule — plaintiffs’ motion by September 21, Huuuge’s opposition by October 14, the reply by November 2, and a hearing on November 16, 2026 — and gave Huuuge until July 16 to move for arbitration without waiving it. Discovery went ahead; an August 5 order notes that “discovery has not been stayed by the District Court.”

Huuuge filed its arbitration motion on July 16. On September 3, 2026 Judge Wu denied it after oral argument, and the minute order goes further: the court “would bar enforcement of the arbitration, delegation, or class-action-waiver provision.” The same order took the November 16 class-certification hearing off calendar and set a status conference on Huuuge’s appeal for September 14. The appeal was filed on September 3 as well: all three Huuuge companies noticed an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from the arbitration ruling, and the appeals court assigned a case number on September 12. The latest entries we could read on the public docket are dated September 15, 2026 and have no public text.

What that means for players: no class has been certified for trial, nothing has been won, and there is no new settlement. Whether the case pauses while the Ninth Circuit decides the arbitration question is not visible in the entries we could read. Any money or diamonds would now have to come from a judgment or from a new settlement — and a new settlement would need new notice and a new approval hearing.

Who was covered, and why Washington, California and Illinois matter

The settlement class was people who made purchases or payments in Huuuge Casino or Billionaire Casino from a U.S. IP address on or before preliminary approval — the court granted it on January 22, 2025, and the site says “on or before January 23rd, 2025.” The start date depended on the state: purchases on or after June 2, 2020 where the longest limitations period is three years or less, on or after June 2, 2019 where it is four years, and on or after June 2, 2017 where it is longer. The FAQ on the official site still introduces “any one of the following criteria” and then lists none of them.

The state lines matter because the law differs. The lawsuit, filed on June 2, 2023, accuses Huuuge of deceptive “strikethrough” prices and of countdown timers on sales “when in reality the sales were almost always available,” and argues that the games are illegal gambling under California and Illinois law; Huuuge denies all of it. In a related case this court had already held that “no California statute authorizes recovery of gambling losses,” while “Washington allows for monetary recovery of gambling losses.” That is why Washington players were treated differently before: according to the ruling, “In 2021, Huuuge reached a $6.5 million settlement with Washington consumers” in Wilson v. Huuuge in the Western District of Washington. The rejected deal would have released only California and Illinois gambling claims; the FAQ says players “will not release claims that the Applications violate gambling laws in states other than California and Illinois.”

The platform question is separate litigation. The ruling names multidistrict cases in the Northern District of California over simulated casino-style games against Apple, Google and Facebook, and a case against Amazon in Seattle. Huuuge’s settlement would have released some claims against those platforms; the court refused. We have not checked the status of those cases for this article.

Is the email real, and what should you do now?

The 2025 notice was genuine. The administrator built its list from data subpoenaed from Apple, Google and Meta — 894,220 users and 877,697 email addresses — and emailed 829,318 class members, with a 97.3 percent delivery rate; Amazon emailed another 37,453 customers directly, and online ads produced about 21,595,312 impressions. That notice never asked for a claim form: the FAQ says the diamonds would arrive “with no requirement for a claim to be submitted.” Since the deal was rejected, there is nothing to claim under it. A message today asking you to file, pay a fee or give card details to receive Huuuge settlement money does not match anything in the court record we read.

The official contacts are info@huuugesettlement.com, 1-877-355-4933, and Huuuge Casino Settlement, c/o Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103. The site does not name the administrator; its documents are stored in a file bucket labeled “angeion-public,” which points to Angeion Group — our inference, not a statement on the site. For the actual state of the case, the court docket is more current than the settlement site.

There is nothing to file and no deadline running. The October 15, 2025 opt-out and objection deadlines belonged to the rejected settlement. If you spent money in either game and want to follow the case, your App Store, Google Play, Amazon or Facebook purchase history is the record of what you paid. If spending in these games has become a problem, the settlement website’s FAQ says the apps’ own FAQ section links to “resources relating to video game behavior disorders and Defendant’s self-exclusion policy.” For settlements that are actually open, see our list of open class action settlements.
